I remember as a kid playing a LOT of Castle explorer (1996), which got me to internalise so much information about feudalism and the inner workings of a feudal society. There's plenty of very good interactive content available too. Fief seems nicely structured though. Some hours of KCD 1 & 2 might also inspire and complement.
