I'm one of those horrible Cardiacs people, the ones that listen to Cardiacs
That's an impossible question.
The best live shows I ever saw in my life were Fela Kuti, Henry Rollins.
Right now I love Fontaines DC, Joshua Ray Walker, Leon Bridges as recording artists.
Favorite old album is Silk Degrees, but I wouldn't say I love Boz Scaggs, just that one album is so ridiculously good.
Favorite new album definitely Romance, Fontaines DC.
Best 'underrated' J Roddy Walston & the Business, their live shows and records were amazing.
Can't say I have a favorite band though.
King Crimson is the official answer.
But I put Tool, Meshuggah, Between the Buried and Me, and maybe Karnivool in second place.
Nickelback.
Just kidding… NIN
It's changed from year to year and scene to scene and phase of life to phase of life. But Pink Floyd has always been up there.
Of course it's kind of a situational thing, favorite band can be different depending in when it's asked but I think Love has been the one band I never take a break from listening to and never get tired of.
Talking Heads is a very close second, and then many many more close third.
I really want to start sharing music more, but I have to find good ways to share the playlists I make.
We saw them here, and yeah what a great live act!
Between the Buried and Me is one of my favorites, as is Parkway Drive recently. Other top artists are ones like gloryhammer, Amararanthe, and Alestorm. Outside of metal, bands like Supercommuter/Optimus Rhyme, MC Frontalot, mc chris, and Captain Dan tend to be my most played
One of my favorite random artists I've found recently is Anthony Vincent who makes songs covers in the style of other artists, and I just can't get enough of Mr Brightside by A7X
I like ISM(Industrial, Scientific, Medical... Its a radio frequency band...)
My favorite band is that awesome trio from Toronto...
Triumph.
Slowly exits stage left.
Jethro Tull Iron Maiden Opeth Primus
Between those I cannot decide.
Primus sucks!
Nice to see a fellow Primus enjoyer once in a while.
My current favorite band / musician is STOMACH BOOK. The main overarching theme she presents is trans pain manifested in anger and wrath. I love it, I'm not even trans.
NOFX
Probably either steely dan or the replacements
The Presidents Of The United States Of America.
Silly lyrics about bugs and serious rock. What's not to like?
Kitty at my foot and I want to touch it
Rotting Christ probably.
Overall? Between the Buried and Me
By genre?
Black Metal - White Ward (Slavs Ukraini!), Ihsahn
Death - First Fragment, Ulcerate
Instrumental - Animals as Leaders, CHON
(Post-)Hardcore - The Fall of Troy
Progressive (that isn't BTBAM) - Protest the Hero, Ne Obliviscaris
A user of culture I see. I've not heard of Ne Obliviscaris, so I'll have to check them out
I'd start with either Citadel or Exul. PLEASE return with your assessment.
The Roots (first four albums especially)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor / A Sliver Mt. Zion
Portishead, Massive Attack
Public Enemy
It's a four-way tie between David Byrne/Talking Heads, Oingo Boingo, Spin Doctors and Yello.
Edit: five way tie - add in Earth, Wind and Fire (pre 1981)
King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard. Their live shows kick ass and they've got such amazing chemistry together. Love listening to them jam.
Coheed and Cambria
Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Silver Mt Zion
The Offspring
Fit for an Autopsy.
Vulfpeck
If I had to pick one, I'd have to pick The Clash.
So many favourite bands. Soilwork, Dream Theatre, Decapitated, Fear Factory.
I'm mostly on the 20 meter band myself. There's an active packet community on 14.105 LSB.
