They ended up reforming their economy to be more capitalist because after the war, America embargoed them till they reformed (plus some other stuff like war with China and Cambodia that fucked up their economy). So now its kinda just a mix of state capitalism and regular capitalism like China. They suffer from a lot of corruption and poor management, plus pretty much abandoning any real socialist policy, so not a great place.

During the Vietnam war its important to remember that the Viet Minh (communists) had initially risen up to free themselves from colonialism. The treaty that was passed though split Vietnam in half with the communist north and capitalist south. Furthermore that South Vietnam was a hell hole. An insanely corrupt, violent, and oppressive anti-communist dictatorship. The Viet Minh were by no means angels, but compared to South Vietnam they were certainly the good guys. I want to stress comparatively.

In what way is whether or not you made the video relevant to whether or not you should label your post about it? Most people don't want to see AI shit, do us a favor and label it so we can filter it. Maybe you wouldn't get hit with such negativity if you did that

The real test wouldn't be by making it only compete against responsible drivers, it would be by making the self driving cars compete in all the same conditions humans drive in. Humans are dangerous and unreasonable, that is the problem that self driving cars are trying to solve. However that solution is useless if it cant perform in rain, snow, and undeveloped roads. Which the reality is they cant ans end up being more unsafe than human drivers

I only managed to move out recently. Unfortunately there was a lot of damage done to our relationship prior to me moving out, and its damage I don't believe he is aware is there. Even if it is, neither of us are eager to confront it. I still visit, and try to do it about bi-weekly (distance being the main factor), but it always feels awkward and I don't think that will go away until the current state of America improves or we take the effort to fix the issues. Further unfortunately, I worry that he won't change and that is a huge barrier to mending our relationship.

Our relationship is in a really difficult spot. If we don't try and work through it and just keep skirting around things and avoiding the problem things will never improve and it will always be awkward around him. But if we confront things, there is a good likelyhood things will end up worse than they already are

That is fair. I also think it depends on the subject. Math I think would be particularly hard to individualize lessons. However english and social studies I think would be far easier. Thankfully I am studying to be a history teacher. Will update in 2 years how my experimentation with decentralizing the classroom goes lol

The issue is our society encourages it. When the most important thing in life is money, people are gonna do shit like this to exploit others. Take away the possibility of profit for grifting people and the incentive to do this drops. Would it completely go away? No, there will always be stupid grifters striving to gain popularity or attention, but I think that without the monetary factor it would be a negligible presence.
