I thought with the explosion of electric power and windmills and the electric vehicle boom, fossil fuels would not be required..

Yet, a lot of countries still generate coal and other fossil fuels, is it because there is still filthy amounts of profit there to be made? Maybe they are just so used to it they don't wanna swap to another resource?

I thought with Solar panels being massively produced, it would sell like hot cakes and you're literally having the power of the sun in your hand.

The worst corp I can think of is Nestlé, these pieces of shit have done a lot of environmental damage and have been known to engage or complicit in slavery.

Erasing Nestlé is like erasing the infectious boil on a human body.

What foul company would you erase for good and why?

Just thought about this question, see I haggled with a stall owner I see every time at a local comic con I go every year, lovely chap and we always have a little cheeky back and forth about certain figures or collectibles.

What about you? Did you ever haggle once for a particular thing you liked? Or are you the straight person who buys it up front?

I'd like to know!

I think the egg came first because in order for the chicken to even exist and evolve to its current state, it would need to be first hatch only BY THEN it becomes the famous clucking bird we know and love.

Checkmate chicken-ists your move?

Ideally I just wanna lose my gut, I've already started cut back on alcohol and ONLY take two sweet treats in my lunch for work.

Oh and skipping the elevator and rather go up two levels of stairs to my workplace, I find that more rewarding as I think that'll contribute.

Muscle gain wise, I'm starting off with bicep curls and over head press, nothing crazy.

I think I plan to lose the gut and flatten it before I do any sit ups lol.

Thank you for your message.

So since the last 2 days, I've been building the courage up to start doing exercises. I'm starting with weights that were just collecting dust so thought "hell why not, never too late to start getting fit"

Now I'm being realistic knowing that starting off you're not gonna be shredded like a wrestler but I'm just tryna get leaner and fitter body wise.

Is it reasonable for absolute novices to never go to the gym for their exercise and fitness journey? I feel like would be saving some dosh even though I could be missing on some equipment they use there.

A penny for your thoughts?

My favourite season has gotta be spring, here's why :

For me in the UK, when spring hits its basically a diet coke version of summer, sure there's some rain but boy when it's sunny, then its a great feeling because you're not too hot and bothered.

Same things for sleeping at night, oh and it's not so cold that you can comfortably wear almost anything without being absolutely cooked like an egg!

What about you?

Putting fruit on a delicious Italian treat is a crime against Italy, pizza and humankind.

It doesn't work and mesh well with cheese tomato and the dough as it has that opposite fruity taste compared to the savoury delights of a cheese pizza.

Sweetcorn? I can get by that, mushrooms? You're damn right I'll put mushrooms and ham on my pizza but FRUIT?!

Absolute lunacy, don't fall for the pineapple on pizza propaganda people

Whilst BSD isn't linux per se, it still has a lasting legacy in the unix like space and notably has been used in game consoles like the PS4.

For you in your personal use case, have you tried a bsd distro? What was better compared to the average linux distro?

Apparently BSD is more modular with its jailing system and seems to have a lower resource usage.

I look at ones like NETBSD and FreeBSD and think, "what exactly do I get out of them that I wouldn't with Linux say, Ubuntu or Void as an example?

What are your thoughts on BSD, you use FreeBSD before?

What is your general attitude towards those who believe in religion whether they are jewish, Muslim, Christian etc etc.

Do you get on well with any religious friends and neighbours?

Have you ever thought of believing in a religion at some point?

If you do not like the faiths, why?

If you DO, also why? Does this come from your family? Maybe something went bad during your life?

I get that Lemmy might have the same stereotype in Reddit that there are loads of atheists, but there's a good reason why despite criticism of religion, it is still here.

P.S. I am not religious or anti religious in any fashion, I am agnostic.

For those veteran linux people, what was it like back in 90s? I did see and hear of Unix systems being available for use but I did not see much apart from old versions of Debian in use.

Were they prominent in education like universities? Was it mainly a hobbyist thing at the time compared to the business needs of 98, 95 and classic mac?

I ask this because I found out that some PC games I owned were apparently also on Linux even in CD format from a firm named Loki.

I've gathered that a lot of people in the nix space seem to dislike snaps but otherwise like Flatpaks, what seems to be the difference here?

Are Snaps just a lot slower than flatpaks or something? They're both a bit bloaty as far as I know but makes Canonicals attempt worse?

Personally I think for home users or niche there should be a snap less variant of this distribution with all the bells and whistles.

Sure it might be pointless, but you could argue that for dozens of other distros that take Debian, Fedora or Arch stuff and make it as their own variant, I.e MX Linux or Manjaro.

What are your thoughts?

What is your favourite developer company? Mine is ID Tech because they made games like the original DooM games which have serious long standing modding support and Quake for some of those tense DM games!

What are yours?
