Unfortunately seems to be an oversight in the implementation of new software locks and their requirements, and is fully patchable. Xiaomi has seemingly already released patches in China as per the article, so this is moderately disappointing for anyone who wants a cutting edge, bootloader-unlocked device.

I think the point is it would have been truly ironic if the AI itself was the authoritative fact checker instead of merely being a tool that built another tool.

If Claude was the fact checking tool instead of the ISBN validator, that's the real irony.

If in a messed up future, only an AI could catch a fellow AI, what's stopping the AI collective from returning false negatives? Who watches the watchers?

Think you're taking this too seriously.

To the average Joe, yeah, Windows is easier to install than ever. But to anyone with a passing interest in the OS has needed to do more and more work just to keep the OS recognizably sane vs the mess it has become.

Contrast that to Linux, which has stayed recognizably sane or even getting better.

Looked for the first post that mentions this new Firefox version. It's funny, my Work Profile installation appears to be enrolled in an A/B test for a newer design, while my main profile has the old layout.

Have to say, I seriously disagree with the new layout. The amount of padding and size of every menu item, the misuse of my phone screen, is just absurd. I can't tell if this is supposed to be the normal OoB experience or if my installation suddenly had accessibility accommodations for myopia turned on and set to maximum. I can't share screenshots for comparison, but it's rough.

I don't work on uBlock or even webdev but it doesn't take much of a stretch to think YouTube's servers will refuse to immediately transmit a video stream after the webpage is requested; probably waiting for a typical user to skip 2 30-sec ads.

It would be in the Downloads section of the Microsoft Store.
