What a neat concept. I love to see innovation like this. Sure, it is markably worse throughput than basically anything else, but it's something completely new.

The only situation I can see this being useful in is if wireless RF is being monitored, or a mass gathering where uni/multi-cast is simply infeasible.

As it is now, at least. Would love to see it developed further. I have serious concerns at how well it'd function in low light.

By no means was I abdicating for inaction. People should absolutely be upset by this and speak out, and vote against those that oppress us.

Locking us out of everything is a bit of a stretch. Even if it comes to that point, its not like illegal content is hard to get (see: torrenting, usenet, MEGA, countless others).

For the average user, sure I guess a "fair" chatbot would be hard to come by (or rather too much work). Isn't it already, though, was kinda my point.

greater guardrails around automated decision-making systems

Oh yeah, absolutely. Decisions would be fairly weighed from management vs a machine doing it. /s

Union workers need to not be so lazy and actually, you know, unionize (meet in-person) nowadays. Attend your monthly meetings! They're in your favor after all..

The run-on sentence is absolutely unnecessary.

You can run SO, SO much more on a PC. And not be locked out of your purchases at a whim (depending on how you buy).

Very capable hardware can be had for the price of a PS5.

Don't like how the leftmost dock slants over at the end. A screw you to that business with the private dock! If that dock were straight then 2 ships could fit in there rather than 1...

Pretty much all of my Signal contacts were persuaded (by me) to use the service way back when. It was like pulling teeth.

Getting them ALL to switch to SimpleX was surprisingly easy. Some might still use Signal, but that doesn't affect me so I've been able to uninstall it.

How will they know which members of my family are teens if we never submit to age verification? /s

We run all AI locally, offline (as in iptables blocked). Screw data collecting tech giants. We encourage our kids to use our LAN "chatbot" service. Right now it uses a popular model abliterated (guardrails removed, realize its not the best, want to switch when unfiltered models get better).

Guess what, I'm the parent and can help teach my kids right from wrong. Don't need you doing that for me, big tech. Information doesn't make kids dumb, censorship does.

They must also send alerts if a teen attempts to bypass or disable parental controls.

Relevant XKCD https://xkcd.com/838/

For shame if my child attempts to bypass something! What, are you scared they might succeed if you don't intervene...?

They've been saying this for how many years..?

You go ahead and keep working on it, Signal.
