Put us behind the rest of the world so that we would be forced to play catch-up by investing a bunch of money, and then have the government funnel that money into private corporations owned by tech billionaires

A bunch of rich people and cops knew it would make kids more likely to do drugs and did it anyways

Thry didnt want to give it attention, but now that its gained some traction and may cause something to actually happen, its a problem for them

Then after retirement and benefits it's anywhere from 20% to 50%. I'm at about 25% just with tax, 36% with benefits and retirement.

Depending on if your deductions are calculated correctly (you have to negotiate that with your job) you might end up getting a refund layer or have to pay, so in reality my rate is more like 30% overall. People with more expensive insurance or less tax credits and or other things on top of that are going to have it worse off.

I make half what I would need to be able to afford buying a home in my area and be able to make mortgage payments and still have money left

There are only two channels I watch that use TTS but neither are english speaking so they translate the text and use TTS to avoid having a thick accent

The (US) government has a long history of outlawing useful, helpful or otherwise enjoyable things (MDMA, weed and psilocybin) while allowing more destructive things to proliferate (alcohol, opiates). Many governments worldwide still outlaw marijuana and some places will straight up execute people for it (singapore). Keeps the population in check and helped fuel conflict within the lower class to keep them from looking upward.

Maybe Mozilla should stop spending so much money on their CEOs. They also make so much money from investing that they dont really need donations.

I am asking because without reading the article it seems like the only interested people would be Indians.

Not wrong

Same kind of ridiculous nationalism and racism trump advocates for and tries to enforce through law. My dad, whose heritage hasnt lived in india in multiple generations, and has little connection to the religion or language, still supports that kind of bullshit and would rather people die so his religion and language come out on top. Like when india interferes with power and internet in Kashmir and hospitals are desperately trying to keep patients alive, that is a worthy sacrifice to him

The current US regime will have lasting impacts on science research worldwide.

If we can create a tie, democrats could block any legislation going through the house, and flipping any one republican congressman could potentially allow them to get legislation through the house.
