Diablo

Started a Javazon recently and wondered why spears aren't used. For Javazons, it makes sense since you need to be able to throw your weapon for most skills. Additionally, you can equip a shield for much needed survivability since the Amazon is quite squishy.

Then I wondered if there's any point to using a spear at all. Are there any classes that would use them?

Just wondering where all the Lod players are hanging out when not slaying demons. There used to be several active forums around. Looking for old school builds and ideas. Thanks for any information.

I ran Ball Lightning till Paragon 200, took my Mythics, slapped em on a Druid and started slapping puddles... which is SO SATISFYING. Big numbers make happy brain feels

What are yall having fun with? Also, what is the build that makes a weird metallic shot sound and just obliterates bosses?? Edit: I just realized thats just a sound effect for busting their barrier oops 😅

The patch will be deployed on the 15 July. It will mostly bring balance updates and bug fixes.

I've had a lot of free time and been hitting it hard, paragon 246 or so and a good collection of Mythics. I crutched my Blood Spear Necro hard, now my Lightning Spear Sorc is fully online blasting Pit, it's good times. She is a bad girl who does disgusting things at high speed.

How's your season going?

This is the part in Vessel of Hatred where you fight a series of ghosts while they spam one-shot-kill attacks and it is SO FUCKING BADLY DESIGNED. Some of the attacks are only telegraphed by barely glowing spots on the floor that you can't fucking see because of all the shit around you. Getting past it just felt like luck, I was dodging everything to the best of my ability and just. Kept. Dying.

I took a break from D4 for a while so I've been enjoying all the QOL improvements and such, but my god the difficulty design compared to Path of Exile 2 is just night and day. I'm not crazy about PoE2 but I respect how it respects me. When I struggle on a boss there, it's very clearly always a skill issue that I can overcome.

This? This is just being instantly killed out of nowhere with no hope of avoiding it, just because game thinks my armor number isn't big enough. If that's even my problem. Edit: it wasn't, I had it capped lol

Really fuckin souring my enjoyment tbh. It was one of the biggest issues at launch and it doesn't seem to have improved much.

Diablo/Hellfire source port

DevilutionX is a source port of Diablo and Hellfire that strives to make it simple to run the game while providing engine improvements, bugfixes, and some optional quality of life features. This includes support for modern operating systems and higher resolutions, controller and touch control support, translations, stash, optional experience and enemy health bars, etc.

Note: DevilutionX requires data files from original Diablo/Hellfire. By default, a demo version of Diablo is installed.

Every few years I go back to the original, and each time it's been more difficult. From mucking with launcher settings to running it in a Windows XP VM, this time is different. A one-click install on Linux and a copy of diabdat.mpq later, I am amazed how easy it was (and how many quality-of-life options there are).

I’m having fun! There’s a few things I’d like to discuss.

First is the spiritborn. Oh boy is it OP. I mean SERIOUSLY OP. I thought the lightning spear sorc last season was OP, but the spiritborn is magnitudes more powerful. It crushes everything.

I expected it to be powerful but not as powerful as it is. I realise that blizzard wants to sell VOH expansions so they’re gonna make the new class powerful but I don’t think even they realised just how crazy it was gonna get.

Obviously it needs some nerfing for next season but I hope they don’t nerf it into the ground so no one ever plays it again after this season. The items need some work too, most builds are all centred around the rod of kepeleke/midnight sun combo at the moment and it would be nice to see more variety.

The season theme is meh. The realm walkers are boring and the rewards are nothing special.

The undercity is good for target farming but the gameplay itself is nothing special, especially as they made it easier with the last patch.

I tried the citadel for the first time lastnight, it was ok but not as fun as some ppl had led me to believe it would be. It’s difficult though. In the random party I was in we got full group wiped about 6 times before we managed to work out what we were supposed to do. That was the second wing of it I did, in the first wing I still have no idea what the objective was… we just completed it somehow. In the last wing I played with a clan mate and followed his lead, I think that was actually the longest and most fun wing.

I’m liking the new levelling system. At this point I’m usually considering making an alt to try another build but I kinda want to stick with my character this season and see if I can get it to 300 paragon, I’m currently around 250 I think.

I was genuinely pleased with this games first expansion. Did I have gripes? Sure! Story felt squeezed, could have given us more there, usual bugs this that and the other but all and all - they've reworked progression the way we've been asking them to for so long. Almost every activity seems to have a unique set of things (or nearly unique set) you can't get from other places.

Overall though this is the most fun I've ever had with the game and coincidentally the slowest I've leveled! Imagine that hmmm. Lol.

Meanwhile (while I'll admit not all of the players in sub are like this) the reddit d4 bad sub continues to whine,complain, and say "this is why I didn't buy the expansion" any chance they get.

So you.. chose.. not to purchase an expansion.. and then you choose.. to sit around that games subreddit bemoaning how you hate the game and that seems to you a valuable hse for your time?

Either they're lying and can't afford it and are mad about that or something or they have issues. So glad I left reddit. End rant.

Since I have been playing a lot more I decided to look to join a clan. But the interface on the PS5 is pretty bad. It starts with Clans that are full and goes down to clans that have a couple spots available. I would rather join a clan with 20-30 people in it. Is there another way to search clans?

I did find the latest clans and communities forum on the blizzard forums. But I would rather something where I can scroll through clans and read about them.

I havent played since 3 seasons.

I have all Lilith Statues and the whole map uncovered. I didn't do any side quests, waypoints etc... is that bad?

And I have both done on softcore and hardcore and usually play hardcore but not sure about raids. Play softcore this time?

I'm considering buying it on PS5 but I'm wondering how it plays on a controller. Is it exactly the same as Diablo 4? How do you aim teleports, curses and everything else?
