Hoping to snag a copy before the scalpers do. Let's see if Bandcamp doesn't crash

Oh boy, what a record. Lyrically it's so destructive but I'm always satisfied after giving it a listen.

For me it was probably Thrice's Alchemy Index. I paid around $130 for it and I don't think I can afford to make any more record purchases like that again lol

Described jokingly as "nintendocore", Horse the band and this album in particular were a huge part of my metalcore loving youth. So I couldn't resist getting this when I saw it had been pressed to vinyl and in cool colours no less.

Alt text: The art on the LP outer sleeve is a drawing of a soaring squail and an octopus and other creatures that are mentioned in the songs. It has a hype sticker that says "Record Store Day Exclusive, First time on vinyl". One of the vinyl records is a swirl of two colours described as baby blue and custard. The other (not pictured) is spring green and custard. These match the colours of the album art.

That's a pretty steep discount for this classic record. Thought I'd share

We all know that Crosbys and Victrolas aren't great, so what would you recommend for a friend who has started collecting vinyl records?

You could say that I'm a fan.

I'm a collector of sorts so was hoping we could have a community on Lemmy where we can discuss anything related to collecting and caring for our records. Hope to see more folks join in!
