What? I always default to the back ones since the splatter won't reach my clothes as easily from there

[–] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 4 points 2 weeks ago

I also use the back ones since it is low likely that I'll hit a handle and have hot food flying about.

Do aprons just not exist any more?

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I don't know anyone that actually uses one to be honest

Making Aprons is easier than adding as many pockets to everything.

Might come back as we get out of gambler-designed slave-made garment supply chain.

I use them when naked grilling because I don't want hot greasd burning my nuts.

Reasonable answer

Why wear special clothing to avoid the splatter when you can just not get splatter on you

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I take the same approach to software development. Why waste time debugging when you can simply not write any bugs in the first place? Mystified how nobody else ever thought of this before.

[–] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

My friend, you can just put the pan in the back burner lol

I mean yeah it is an option but wearing special clothes for the splashes doesn't seem as necessary when you can just do a simple thing to avoid the splashes

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

An apron is a very simple item that simply goes over the clothes and secures with a single, simple tie

[–] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's just unnecessary if you just use the further away burner lol

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's just unnecessary if you just use an apron

[–] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Well yeah those are the options. Use special clothiny for the splatters or just don't have the splatters. Second seems simpler imo

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh, you'll still have splatters.

[–] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 weeks ago

Can't say I've noticed any but could be

[–] xor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago

I mean if you replace "not write bugs" with "write tests", this becomes a good metaphor
