Honestly, if Trump wants to change the laws for a third time, that finally allows the Trump x Obama battle xD

I do not think they will pass a constitutional amendment, so if Trump runs this will end up in court. I would like to see SC struggling to handle Obamas and Trumps case together.

Usually they just ignore the courts and do what they want, but in this case it would be difficult to actually hold a nationwide election, even a sham one, because it would require enough of the states to cooperate and put him on the ballot. The only way he stays in is if he just refuses to leave or if the SCROTUS says that Trump is President for life because reasons.

I dont think that is as far-fetched as you.

So, I am not great with numbers, but if we go by electoral college results from 2024 (using 270towin.com), significantly more states voted red in 2024 than blue; 31 red, 19 blue. 20 states have been red since 2000, vs 15 states (and DC) blue since 2000. My point is that the Republicans have an entrenched advantage. Annnnd of course this is why they would fight tooth & nail against reforming the electoral college.

It's (horrifyingly) interesting to consider - what would happen if red states put him on the ballot and blue state didn't because it's clearly unconstitutional? If (when) he "wins," none of those states viewed him as a legitimate choice, so the thin veneer of "rule of law" that might be keeping them from outright revolting now wouldn't exist any more. The Constitution will have proven to mean nothing, so what's to stop states from seceding?

Unfortunately, you may get your answer.

Indeed. I can't even begin to predict what will happen after almost four more years of this. The only thing I know for sure is it will be bad. VERY bad.
