Explanation: Today is the Ides of March, the day on which the Roman conqueror and dictator Gaius Julius Caesar was assassinated, by being stabbed numerous times by the Senatorial aristocracy.

There is also a salad called a 'Caesar Salad' that was invented much later, unrelated to Gaius Julius Caesar. Still, it's funny to conflate the two. SALAD MAN LIVES FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS, AND STOMACHS

And the roots of the word salad are to be found in Roman times as well.
