๐ Breaking | An advanced enemy fighter was hit and crashed in Qeshm
Public Relations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps:
๐น Following the false claim by the lying US president about the complete destruction of the IRGC's air defense, moments ago an advanced enemy fighter in the south of Qeshm Island was hit by the IRGC Navy's new advanced air defense system and under the control of the country's integrated air defense network.
๐น This fighter crashed between Hengam Island and Qeshm Island and sank into the depths of the Persian Gulf waters.
Video in https://t.me/sepahnewsir403/12448 !!!!!!!
Edit. If anyone wants to know how ADs hit fighter jets, I recommend this post -> https://lemmygrad.ml/post/11116557
The hits against enemy jets are very different to anti UAV drone hits.
I'm not certain what it is, but from the first part of the video I think it might be an F-16.
Edit to add: it looks like the tail had only one vertical stabilizer and the planform looks fairly close. I could be mistaking it for something else like an F-18, which would be my 2nd guess. All in all, this yet again entirely disproves the notion that Iran's air defenses are no more.
The video you've attached is pretty good at explaining it overall. The MAWS/DAS of the F-35 that was hit seems to have not detected the missile.
The discussion of the fact Iran may be using a solution that is a hybrid of a loitering munition and SAM is really interesting, because of the novelty and cleverness of such an innovation, as well as one of the biggest benefits I see is that Iran can put these into the sky while concealing or moving the launchers immediately afterward.
