It’s gross, a lot of people consider it straight up unsanitary. Aside from allowing your skin to be as dirty as the bottom of a shoe the chance that you harm yourself by cutting or damaging your foot on their property is way higher, most places aren’t baby proofed for people who want to go shoeless
