OK man.
A corrupt system operates with the consent of the oppressed. We are all each other's jailers.
Free your mind, coppertop.
Or stop acting like a weirdo obsessed with something nonsensical.
How about how we don't have proper healthcare because of billionaires, continued subsistence of Israel, etc? Who gives a flying fuck about some dumb wedding?
You'd get further with your goals if you learned to talk like a rational person. I would bet you feel great though about how smart you are and how dumb everyone else is though which might be the more important thing to you.
You're not seeing the whole war.
We don't tax billionaires because they are Wise and Good People, otherwise they wouldn't be rich!
Until billionaires are seen as the mentally ill individuals they are, they will continue to take over governments, benefit themselves, and send us to early deaths to grow their wealth.
And yet here you are arguing with someone on your side so the Taylor Swift can continue to be America's Sweetheart unmolested. Doesn't that make you a little bit curious about underlying social and psycological gears that run the machine?
No....not at all.
Believe it or not, I can carry on a conversation about something trivial without having to interject politics about it all. Again- it's a dumb non-story and I, someone who is online enough, saw maybe 1-2 articles about it in my feed and went on by. It's not a big deal and regular people won't see it as a big deal either. Ie. this wedding is not something that at all is affecting their day to day life because it's a one off and will be forgotten in a week's time.
You'd have better luck convincing people that she is bad because her private jet burns so much fuel and releases so much CO2 into the air which is causing this insane heat and rapid weather changes, more tornadoes in areas they previously weren't in, etc. etc. Not downtalking and making up fantasies about a wedding (which, most people are far more likely to have a wedding of their own and attend many so maybe attacking the institution of marriage and the fun of a wedding is not the play.) You'd also have more luck saying we shouldn't be reliant on billionaire's generosity (like her donating to whatever cause, maybe wiping out medical debt or whatever she did) if we just taxed all billionaires so this was done all the time.
See what I mean? Catch more flies with honey.
I honestly equate this to some trekkie going up to a random person that goes on and on about how it's the best TV series ever- no one asked and they certainly aren't going to be super receptive. Talking to people and slowly convincing them of your position and the righteousness of it is a skill and a necessity, not some nice add-on.
Surely we will win the class war with diligent and assiduous tone policing.
You're really intent on being right. Maybe go touch some grass and get off the internet for a while. Not everything is worth arguing about.
Nah, my life is boring and miserable and making everything a manichean struggle between freedom and slavery is sort of the only thing keeping me going right now.
Hobbies really help with that sort of thing. Nobody has to stay miserable. You'll feel better just making friends and going outside, even if it's just for a walk around the block.
I want to laugh, but I'm afraid it would be translated as cruelty when it is really just astonishment. "Just" making friends, as if making a single real friend hasn't been my main life goal for the past 5 years, that always founders on the rocks of people's casual indifference to platonic frienship as a concept.
But I am looking for a new job, which will help a little bit, and I found a good place to share my guitar playing with other poeple.
And today I'm sitting by the screen door as the dog looks out into the rain for squirrels and bunnies and learning a song off an LP on clarinet. I haven't pulled out my clarinet since I had some teeth removed several months ago, and I didn't play it for very long before that. Today's song is Buttermilk Skies by Hoagy Carmichael from the Columbia House collection, "Songs of Long Ago and Far Away". I think it's in Gb, which so far has taken me about 20 minutes to remember. Don't have much hope for getting much above the center of that middle octave today.
Consider my nervous system regulated for now.
