You've never heard of diplomacy? The survival of Ukraine depends on him convincing other countries to help - I don't fault him for kissing US ass.
I do fault him for kissing US ass, but that's not relevant here. I fault him all the more for smiling and kissing the ass of Ukrainian Nazis in front of giant Nazi symbols on Ukrainian flags, in the service of a Nazi inspired massacre in Ukrainian territory that they'd really love to get back to if they could just stop having to fight against a Russian invasion.
When an Capitalist Oligarchy launches an expansionist war against a Nazi state engaged in ethnic/linguistic purging, anyone opposed to both Capitalism and Nazism should recognize that the only side worth supporting is the stoners popping the popcorn.
