During a particularly bad grippy sock vacation, I got my hands on a waterlogged deck of cards that I practically slept with. That card in particular was the most damaged. Still despite the damage, it was a perfectly fine card and deck. I thought that was kind of poetic and representative of me; damaged but still functional. I took that card home with me and got it tattooed. Now it’s always “up my sleeve” if I need a reminder.
