Oh yeah definitely. If you’re reading multiple books at a time and on the go then an ereader is the only option. I only read one book at a time and mostly in one place (bedtime) so my book just stays where it is until I need it.

Paper books can also be quite a hassle if you have limited space, with no room for a bookshelf. This can be mitigated somewhat if you have easy enough access to a public library. Another option is a community mini library, which if you haven’t seen one looks like this:

There are a few of these in my neighbourhood and they always have books. They may not work for everyone though, since you need to be flexible about what you read. They pair really well with small used bookstores, since you can use those to buy books cheaply and get them circulation after you read them.

Yep, I donated one of these to a school on my street. I also upkeep it by checking on it 2 times a week. But upkeep isn't really needed, since the books get traded back and forth on their own. It one of the more popular ones in my small town.
