Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Tl;Dr: This guy watches a brain-damaging amount of TikTok and believes in baseless conspiracy theories.
Most of what just got regurgitated here is complete horseshit. Patrick Clancy has never once been accused of killing these kids. True crime weirdos spread nonsense about anything that trends for views, and the then stupid people take the bait.
It's shameful how many upvotes this comment has. This is brazen misinformation.
I know that this case elicits a lot of emotion from people, it's no excuse to spread harmful misinformation.
EDIT: Honestly, this comment is such bullshit it needs a point-by-point breakdown. You should be ashamed for having posted this.
Virtually every claim in this theory originated on TikTok/unverified true-crime forums and directly contradicts the official court filings, surveillance footage, 911 audio, and statements from both the prosecution and Lindsay Clancy's own defense attorney.
Here is a fact-check of you claims:
Inventing conspiracy theories that accuse a grieving father of murdering his own children runs completely counter to all physical evidence, video surveillance, phone records, and both legal teams' filings. You just can't wrap your head around complex postpartum mental illnesses, and would rather believe anything but that a loving mother killed her kids in a psychotic state.
It’s fucking sad that you have to do this honestly. We are fucked lol truth is now opinion.
Ah, so you're lying on purpose. I'm not even arguing with you anymore, because you're deliberately spreading disinformation. I'm just correcting the record to keep others from eating your shit.
Now that the trial has taken place in Plymouth Superior Court, the actual sworn testimony, forensic exhibits, and trial record directly disprove these claims:
Trying to frame Patrick Clancy ignores the physical evidence, video surveillance, phone records, and the explicit defense strategy presented in open court.
Wild the whiplash of these comments.
Well, I had to do it to this clown again: https://vger.to/lemmy.world/comment/25444009
If nothing else, that's reasonable doubt.
Being utterly unfamiliar with this case up until my rushed reading of 10 mins ago, and operating under the assumption that everything you've said is 100% factual reporting:
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
What!? That isn't smoke pointing to a fire, it's a goddamn molten slag cast in the shape of a man gleefully setting fire to a previous life as he dances over to a new fire pit.
That shit is too on the nose that I fully expect the true crime drama episode in 10 years about husband's exploits to come with a warning about the gullibility of the system and technology.
Just enough digital trail to "absolve" him, conveniently, but only if you pick and choose where and when to accept the trail is on his side?
This is absolutely looking like the classic "sociopathic piece of skin husband has idealized mental picture of life shattered by difficult reality and decides to dispense with his 'property' before moving on" murder pattern.
Record scratch
Everything they just said is unsubstantiated bullshit conjured up by the TikTok true crime community. You are best served to forget everything you just read and read the Wikipedia page instead.
Well this changes everything, and I am just now learning about this case. But I hope this comes to light and he gets what's coming to him.
Like goddammit is not marrying someone else THREE MONTHS AFTER HIS KIDS DIED! That huge red flag. But if he buddy with the cops that surprised he getting away with it.
None of what you just read is true. True crime influencers are making shit up en masse about this case.
You should read more from a reputable source instead of believing what randos tell you online.
I wouldn't recommend automatically believing everything you read on the Internet.
The courts aren't trying to decide whether or not she did it, or if her husband did it. They are decoding whether or not her mental state makes her criminally liable. She already admitted that she did it. There isn't any doubt there.
You clearly "did your own research on YouTube". It shows in how to you don't know what you're talking about, and are regurgitating influencer misinformation instead of talking about the actual facts of the case.
There are many instances of clearly mentally ill people admitting to crimes they didn't commit.
Chris Watts also initially claimed his wife did it.
Oh he did that shit
