A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.
Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:
- Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
- When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
- More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- No politics
- If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.

- Posts must be original/unique
- Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS
If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

People will shame me, but I like my chicken dry. Not dry as in sawdust... but dry. The only moist I want is from the sauce. If the chicken is wet in my mind, it is not done, and I'm eating raw chicken then. And that's just...yuck..
This is solid UnpopularOpinion material. If I get a chicken sandwich from somewhere and it's dry, I will probably throw away most of it. To me, it's like eating bad chicken jerky.
My favorite way of having chicken breast is sous vide at 145 for a couple hours. It pasteurizes all of the bacteria and keeps it super juicy. The inside does still have some pink because it's cooked at a lower temp, and that's definitely off putting to some, but it doesn't bother me.
It's interesting how people can have such differing opinions on things so common like cooked chicken.
Ah. For me, if it's too dry, yeah, but if it's just dry enough, that's perfect. I don't want to bite into a chicken tomatoe and feel all the "pink" juices coating my mouth.
That's fair. I like juicy, but there is a texture line where chicken has to be firm enough that's it's not like biting into sushi. I still like something with lots of moisture, but I think there's definitely a difference between juicy and undercooked.

From Tampa FL originally moved to a small town in GA called Dublin. Don't live there anymore... but it sure left a taste in my mouth.
Oof condolences on the time there. The first time I ever heard of Dublin was when I first drove down from north Georgia on spring break, because I’m old my dad was giving me hand written directions, and he specifically told me to not stop in Dublin for gas or food. At one point I believe it was one of the meth capitals of the South
Oh it's bad. It was ranked in top 5 of towns with an STD problem. The only good thing that came out of it was my partner. She's the total opposite of the people in that town.
I only visit for my ma, who has stage 4. She lives on a large piece of land so it's the peaceful part of Dublin.
But yeah, I def tell folks. Avoid Dublin GA.
I get where you’re coming from. I can tolerate a little moisture, but if it’s running juices when cut and chewed it will make me gag.
