It is funny how they can cooperate like this even during open war against each other. Just shows how much of this conflict is really just both sides attempting to get good PR.

No it's more of "we're willing to treat the deportation of 100 citizens differently than thr war for the citizens' sake." Happens all the time in geopolitics. Civilian flights between the The US and The USSR were a thing.

I'm pretty sure for the Iranians it's more about avoiding regime change now and establishing deterrence to avoid regime change in the future.
