Meanwhile, the simplest switch is ignored: when you turn on your windshield wipers while not in Park or your emergency brake is not engaged, your headlights should come on as well. Such an easy piece of legislation, and nowhere near as expensive for consumers as this BS will be.

It'll be interesting to learn about defeating this tech. Also, the used car market is going to go nuts.
