i was a little disappointed to see there aren't many spinoffs or anything. i'm hungry for in-universe content but also generally for similar media. i love the noir and dystopian vibes, and just the way the plot progresses. does anyone have recommendations for similar anime?

Very similar themes, but taken to far greater extremes. If Ergo Proxy is beer, then Texhnolyze is absinthe.

It’s been a long time, but I think I remember Witch Hunter Robin having a similar-ish feel having also been produced in the 2000s.
