Is the author of this article trying to appeal to people like Kid Starver to be more left?

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 1 points 2 weeks ago

The global economy is going to collapse, either way. You'd think the ever-so-brilliant kleptocrat class, being more addicted to greed than a crack baby nursed on meth-laced whiskey bottles would have predicted this and figured out some other way to share a little, rather than invest so heavily into spy apparatus and shock collars. You'd think they already have bunkers on Mars, fully stocked with Soylent Green, Remy, sex slaves and blow or something, the way they're behaving.

Fuck this article. These traitors want to buy more energy from Russia. No. Stop supporting a dictatorship.

[–] Thebigguy@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You don’t want to buy energy from Russia because you think Putin is a dictator, I don’t want to buy energy from Russia because we need to move away from fossil fuels.

We are not the same

[–] NotAGamer@lemmy.org -1 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I want to move away from fossil too but not at the expense of supporting Ptuin which is what this article is suggesting. Are you denying that Putin is a dictator?

[–] Thebigguy@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Lol Russia mainly sells the EU fossil fuels, moving away from them would defund Putin. It’s a damn shame our leaders have committed to driving us into a climate death spiral instead. I kind of don’t fucking care if Putin is a dictator or not, all I know is this war never needed to happen and the responsibility lies with US imperialism as much as it does with Putin. Our leaders are also as authoritarian and psychotic, Most western leaders are supporting a genocide right now. Also imagine thinking military Keynesianism is feasible in 2025 when we have already breached the 1.5C target that wasn’t meant to be breached till 2100. Most leaders either have their heads in the fucking sand or are completely fine with creating conditions that will kill billions, as long as their blood sucking buddies can make money off of it.

Fuck all these people, they’re all as bad as each other. I find people who think Putin is some kind of special evil to be pathetic. He’s the same as all the others and is a product of capitalism which breeds psychos rising to the top.

My point is that the article of this point starts of suggesting the EU needs to buy more energy from Russia (which would be fossil fuels). It's both bad for the environment AND supports an evil dictator. And Putin is at the top of the list if evil dictators because of the shit he's pulling with Ukraine. That doesn't dismiss others but it does make him the worst.

Lol you really think Putin is worse than Netanyahu? If you do I can’t take your opinion on anything seriously. I’ve met people from Ukraine (who left while they could) you can still go clubbing in Kyiv if you want. You think you can go to a nightclub in Gaza? If Putin really is this great evil then I’ll say the same thing to you that I said to the asshole nazi I met who was trying to convince some kid it was his duty to die for his country.

Why don’t you sign up to fight?

Well now you're just straight up admitting you think that the lives of white people matter more than non-whites.

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago

I'm going to be real with you, I think not having the planet cook is more important than sticking it to Putin.

You did. He's in Russia and his name is Putin. Are you denying that Putin is a dictator?

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Claiming that Putin is a dictator is the height of idiocy illustrating that you don't have the first clue about Russian politics.

[–] NotAGamer@lemmy.org -1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

He literally changed laws to keep power. He's a fucking dictator you naive ass.

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 weeks ago

Being an ignoramus that you are, you probably don't know that extending term limits happens in western countries as well. Meanwhile, he literally has 70%-80% support according to mainstream western polling. If you want to see what a dictatorship looks like maybe you should look at countries where "leaders" have below 40% approval and work directly against the interests of their people, as is the case with pretty much every western regime.
