A great example for when people ask "why do you need to have all your appliances/lights/locks/etc be 'smart'?" - well, because if I think I forgot to turn off the stove, turn off the lights and lock the door, I can just check homeassistant and make sure.

Yeah, ADHD and ASD have been officially diagnosed, but those aren't that bad actually.
Just a few personality traits are the tough ones to deal with, mostly alexithymia and SDAM.

OCD IS anxiety. It's an anxiety disorder.

Not exactly. OCD can also lead to disgust or discomfort besides anxiety, if things aren’t like they “should” be. OCD doesn’t mean there’s an actual real danger involved.

Double checking your keys or stove can also just be a compensation because you have actual experience of forgetting to take care of things.

While anxiety as an emotion can come up in different contexts doesn’t mean it’s the same. Symptoms and behavior can overlap even if the underlying condition or disorder is different.

Lots of mental illnesses and disorders will lead to additional other psychological issues if not treated.

Hey, that's my partner.

It's about 50/50 on whether or not the anxiety is warranted, which means any time there's a worry we basically have no choice but to check. Fortunately most of the big stuff we've gotten pretty good at managing so it's mostly like, did we forget to gate the dogs in, or is there a chance we come home to a mess in the living room?

Depression and addiction and autism

Lol, used to… they all eventually just rolled up under autism.

Tbh, learning to handle my life from that perspective has brought me a lot of relief to what would otherwise be chronic, painful anxiety/depression/obsession
