That's why they are so desperately trying to get as many "data centers" built so they can have an obedient army to protect them from the peasants that they have been robbing blind for years.

The rich are only useful for a couple of things testing submarines and maybe as shark bait if a shark is desperate enough to eat shit, can't think of any other uses.

Datacenters burn all the same as any warehouse.

If we're being honest with ourselves: not really. Toilet paper is a fuel, computers are not. Warehouse Luigi was a symptom not the solution. You would have to be a lot more clever than that to take out something like a data center.

Any prospective data center Luigi would have to realize that unlike that warehouse, data centers have some really heavy duty utility connections. The water for their cooling systems would probably be able to put out any fire they attempted to start, but it can cause enormous damage to computers and electronics if it somehow ended up somewhere it wasn't supposed to be, so they usually put it outside the building, like on the roof where the cooling equipment is. Fiber optic trunk lines are notoriously difficult to splice and repair when damaged by a stray excavator, that's why they have more than one. Copper for power lines is extremely valuable and commonly stolen, and they know this, so if those power lines were ever cut and stolen, they would use natural gas lines to power their turbine backup generators, so they have a continuous source of flammable, explosive gas on-site that you can't interrupt. So as I've hopefully effectively described here, they've already thought of everything and there's no point trying to take out a data center the way Warehouse Luigi did.

I suppose I did contradict myself a little bit there. I appreciate your correction, it is important to remain factual and grounded in times like these.

Warehouse Luigi < Paper Mario

Fly some drones over it and drop some molys on it.

We did this last time we fought nazis. First you blow the roof off THEN you come in with the incendiary bombs.

I imagine they would have better air flow

If only the yachts orcas target weren't the rich people kind that first come to mind..

They're just the homes of unfortunate regular people that are traveling using the wind on boats worth less than your average home...

I may live on a "yacht" but it's worth the same as a new base model Honda Civic. We ain't billionaires yo.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

The issue is those real problem rich people have yachts too big for the orcas to sink.

Thus the only real solution is to teach the orcas how to use magnetic mines and launch torpedoes and keep them well supplied.

Fuck Reddit and Fuck Spez.

I hope you all realize the irony of this being just as bad as some of the "fake badass" bumper stickers of the right we have been clowning on for decades. But by all means carry on.

[–] BevsDad@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Even more dumb than those. Orcas aren't touching the luxury yacht class of boats. Even the one pictured is at most a few million brand new or <100-300k if old and probably run by a solo elderly couple living out their retirement.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 5 points 2 days ago

Also, don’t underestimate the lengths they would go if it actually starts to inconvenience them. They would probably fund (through a shell company of course) some illegal whaling ships to start hunting orcas.

I would watch a killer whale revenge film with 80s action shenanigans.

You’re in luck! Orca, 1977. Jaws-craze era flick that opens with them harpooning a female orca who miscarries while they drag her out of the water and her mate watches both die; he goes on a rampage.
