Without even looking, lemme guess on which states.

Are they the shit holes with low education rates and high rates of rampant stupidity who suckle the teat of all the blue states paying for them but then complain about it?

Also states with very shallow gene pool...

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 7 points 1 week ago

Wait, I thought it was the government that was putting the chemicals in the trails in the first place, and now their making their own actions illegal?

[–] minnow@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, that's the federal government and these are state governments. Of course not THIS federal government, they mean the other federal government, the shadow government. You know the one that disobeys laws, kills millions of people for financial gain, covers up the pedofilia and drug problems of their membership, ignores the Constitution, and is trying to change the world for their own benefit? Well not that one, the other one that tries to keeps everything functioning, root out corruption, and write rules to try and protect people. THAT shadow government. It's evil dontchaknow and these new laws will definitely show them that the states won't stand for it any more!

*offer not valid in blue states, like "The People's Gay-public of Drugifornia"

Florida, Tennessee, and Louisiana are named for working to outlaw chemtrails in the article. Articles like this should be required to list things they have already indicated exist in a small, closed set like this. I want a list of states! Or at least their abbreviations.

[–] ragingHungryPanda@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 week ago

I freaking knew Louisiana would be in it

[–] limelight79@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Airlines should stop flying to or over these states, to comply with the law.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 29 points 1 week ago

Stop fucking flying so much then. You could always put those planes on the ground, on tracks. Imagine that.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 1 week ago

Bigfoot is not allowed at Thanksgiving. Him and frankenstein's monster are still beefing.

At least eight states, including Florida and Tennessee, have now introduced ... legislation to prohibit “geo-engineering” or “weather modification”

So, nothing to do with chemtrails and specifically addresses geo-engineering and weather modification. Cloud seeding is a thing and dispersing particulates to reflect sunlight has also been much discussed. These states simply don't want it happening in their state.

"Fesi testified on the Senate floor April 28 during debate over his bill that he believes “certain agencies within the federal government are doing cloud seeding and geoengineering.” In an interview Friday, the senator was asked what evidence he had to support his claims.

“Look up in our sky,” Fesi answered.

In an interview, Fesi later said he sees “just tons and tons of cloud seeding” above his backyard and described it as “all of the stripes across the skies.”

https://lailluminator.com/2025/05/19/weather-modification-bills/

These bills are fueled by conspiracy theories and idiocy.

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

This is, unfortunately, the same observation I've made in all the chemtrail-beleiving people I know. I zig in discussion, they zag, I realize they're taking small-scale cloud seeding operations as proof of both contrails being chemtrails and, often enough, humans fueling hurricanes for the leftist agenda. These people also tend to deny human ability to affect the planet's climate. The underlying logical interpretation of these states' bills is exactly why they're upheld, meanwhile, their constituents are still thinking about contrails.

[–] surph_ninja@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There’s companies openly doing this already. One idiot not being able to cite it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Stop gaslighting people.

[–] remotelove@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago (5 children)

The point was not about if it was happening or not. It's about how these examples are used as fodder to keep the conspiracies flowing about chemtrails.

If you mix just the right amount of conspiracy with a little bit of fact, you get to keep all the votes from the crazies. It's super easy to use big words like "geoengineering" and twist them to imply that hormones are mixed with jet fuel.

As if something being real or not has ever mattered with regards to republicans trying to generate panic over a thing

[–] JayDee@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This could likely lead to a period of no planes flying over these states, since airlines wouldn't want to face whatever fines are stated in these bills, yeah? If any of these pass, it's inevitable that they'll either be ignored or backpedalled on in the future. I imagine they're mostly just virtue signalling and have no intention of actually passing these laws.

[–] RotatingParts@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 week ago

More note worthy would be the planes not flying into or out of those states. That would not only include no passengers flying in or out, but also no products of any kind being flown in or out. This could get interesting.

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 week ago

They going to outlaw dihydrogen monoxide next?

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Are they also going to make witchcraft a felony?

At least eight states, including Florida and Tennessee, have now introduced chemtrail-coded legislation to prohibit “geo-engineering” or “weather modification”.

Happy to hear we can keep the chemtrails for mind control going

[–] ChaosInstructor@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

another bizarre law. along with, it is prohibited to harass Bigfoot, donut holes are not to be sold and nobody is to cross state lines with a duck atop their head...

How it used to be a fringe thing we can laugh at and dismiss, at a time when scientific documentaries were also entertaining and enlightening.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 3 points 1 week ago

Ok, what if, and hear me out, they are actually doing this to ban plans and force the reintroduction of, wait for it, trains!?

Nah, didn't think so either.
