“This is a unique situation,” she told reporters. “We don’t have information of a similar situation where this happened, right? So we’re going into unique times, and we have limited information.”

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, methyl methacrylate can cause lung and skin irritation, headaches, coughing and wheezing, and has been suggested but not proven as a possible cause of colon and rectal cancers.

[Interviewer:] This toxic chemical that was involved in the incident in orange county this week…

[Dumbass:] Yeah, the one the valves fell off?

[Interviewer:] Yeah

[Dumbass:] That’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point.

[Interviewer:] Well, how is it untypical?

[Dumbass:] Well, there are a lot of these toxic chemicals going around all the time, and only once every couple years does anything like this happen … I just don’t want people thinking that these chemical tanks aren’t safe.

[Interviewer:] Was this tank safe?

[Dumbass:] Well I was thinking more about the other ones…

I’m not saying it wasn’t safe. It’s just perhaps not quite as safe as some of the other ones.

Monty Python is going to sue that person for infringing on their IP. That's Git of the Year quality right there

[–] SenatorCollins@aussie.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago

Well, some of them are built so that the valves don’t fall off at all.

aerospace manufacturing facility

Please note how they don't even say who the tank belongs to until the very end of the article. GKN Aerospace is a big player!

Fantastic clamp down, PR will get a raise after this blows over.

Just kidding, they will all be fired

They'll be replaced by AI and the frequency of these incidents will increase

Can’t wait to see the U.S. Chemical Safety Board video on this one in a year or two, after they thoroughly investigate. (Seriously, their videos are engaging for even the layman.)

There was a chemical spill at a solar cell factory near here recently.

1500 gallons of bad stuff. Then a week later there was a spill of a different toxic substance there.

The best part? Look at the picture. Those white buildings are the solar factory. The red clay area in this old map is now an elementary school.

Let's just say that people who shit bricks that the school and factory were so close together suddenly shat more bricks. Lots of people were very upset.
