I just found the "movie-web remastered" extension disabled in one of my backup browser profiles with the reason:

movie-web remastered extension is restricted because it was deleted by the author(s)

I kind of forgot all that stuff existed. But I vaguely remember them being chased off a couple of years ago.

So where did they all end up? as unofficial extension(s) hosted in some niche git host?

To my knowledge movie-web was a solid and simple piracy site based on a former piracy site (can’t remember the name) that worked roughly the same way before it got shut down. Later, movie web shut down and pstream picked up where the left off. Not long after, pstream went too. All of them built off the others and the UX was really solid by the end. Better solutions exist now, though.
