Nazis fleeing to Argentinia before the war is over? This branch of reality is broken in so many ways.

[–] prex@aussie.zone 43 points 3 weeks ago

He'll be among friends:

[–] LittleBorat3@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Maybe they learn from their mistakes

[–] trollercoaster@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The overwhelming majority of the Nazis who fled to South America after WW2 fared quite well there, so it wasn't that much of a mistake on their part.

[–] LittleBorat3@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

I mean this time they don't book the last minute ticket

Yes, mess things up at home, then fly away when they get out of control. What a classic.

[–] EatingOnions@lemmy.world 68 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Isn't it part of Project 2025 to collapse economy so they can shaft it for quick profit?

[–] CitizenKong@lemmy.world 51 points 3 weeks ago

Also collapse the current system to establish cyberpunkian corporate city states.

[–] Flower@sh.itjust.works 18 points 3 weeks ago

And that after they've been telling everyone you can't tax or limit the rich in any way or they might move and that'll ruin the economy.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Home for Thiel though would more likely be South West Africa. A place where the population would openly greet each other "Heil Hitler" after the war was over.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 weeks ago

Every month there are thousand more white south africans brought into the usa within the terms of the trump/musk slow-walk takeover of the country. /s

Let's make it a new rule: It you don't live here you can't own anything here.

Houses, businessis, real estate, data centers...

[–] Cherry@piefed.social 45 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

Houses, businessis, real estate, data centers…politicians

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 23 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

If I had known how cheap politicians were I would have bought a few of them myself but NOW I have to buy them after Russia has overinflated their worth.

[–] Yliaster@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

Generational issue, likely, I'm afraid.

[–] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 49 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Why do the Nazis always flee to Argentina?

Made America so great that now it's someplace to flee if you're rich enough.

[–] stickyprimer@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Think of all the job creation he’s going to spark in Argentina though. /s

Yes, because these people are not bound by nations. They are part of a global community that very much wants to keep itself free from global government for, more or less, the same reason bandits operate away from cities.

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

You mean cabal. Ultra wealthy using their power to oppress those beneath them.

Argentinians! Please take careful note of the location, and any underground facilities' air intake locations. When needed we may ask you go fill them with concrete.

They know the US is about to have an economic collapse, possible policitical coup or uprising, and that billionaires’ and their wealth are the target of the opposition party.

Wealth tax is terrifying, almost as much as jail or dying. Way cheaper to hire a huge PMC tier security team and ride it out in a foreign country that will be less affected by the US.

Epstein class are like aliens, they invade and suck up resources. Then move on to the next planet (or country).

All we had to do to get him to leave was enact a 5% wealth tax and a pied-à-terre tax? Shit, we could've done this years ago.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 19 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

On brand, I mean his idols all did this too in the late 1940’s…next thing you know is Pete will buy land in Antarctica.

[–] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 18 points 3 weeks ago

Theory out there: he’s going there to try stuff over there first to perfect it and bring it back. Don’t celebrate just yet.

[–] Jomega@lemmy.world 17 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Why is it always Argentina?

[–] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 20 points 3 weeks ago

They need to raise the exit tax, like right now.

MAGA politicians are about to bolt for Argentina... just look at the money they sent there.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 13 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

How much more convenient to be located in the same country as your Nazi gold.

[–] couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip 11 points 3 weeks ago

Spoiler:

spoilerhe's not going to spend much of his time in Argentina

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Is it really a growing trend... that USA's billionaires are seeking a plan B? I think instead a billionaire paid the author to say so (through a proxy, of course); seems more likely to me.

Billionaires often have second citizenship in other countries, it's like Billionaire 101.

(I can't read the article though so if it proves me wrong do let me know)

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

As someone who is in the process of going through their second full immigration process (first was US), it drives me absolutely nuts that they can just buy citizenship elsewhere. Meanwhile us plebes have to be world class champions to even get entered in the lottery for permanent residency elsewhere.

it's ok, once the people sieze control, we can issue bounties for their arrest and drag them back to stand trial, then execute these enemies of humanity

[–] Pollo_Jack@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Use palantir to track him and send him hourly pictures of his location and a target confirm screen till he turns himself in.

[–] bangupjobasusual@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Keep him. If you want to do business here you fuck, you’ll pay taxes here.

[–] LemmyBruceLeeMarvin@lemmy.ml 6 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

But... What happens when money becomes worthless and the bunker is running out of food, how to keep the waitstaff in line? Are explosive collars really a viable solution? Maaaaaybe..,,
