I only have two needs and they've been the same for a long time. Stop killing games and stop forcing origin on me.

EA doesn't give a single fuck about their "fans", or any of their employees.

EA are making another round of layoffs as they seek "to better meet ~~fan~~ shareholders ~~changing needs~~ ever static need for profit", according to reports

Fixed it for you!

oh the need is not static, it is always only increasing

Good point!

Does this include the EA Sports brand? Cuz admittedly they're not doing much to begin with.

[–] kalapala@sopuli.xyz 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

EA Sports - it's the same game.

To be fair, without their sports games, they would have gone bankrupt over 30 years ago.

How about instead of layoffs we just train the teams in charge of Origin Launcher, denuvo integration, and microtransactions to do something useful for a change?

If they truly wanted to meet the changing needs of gamers, they'd just shutter EA entirely. It'd be easier to burn it all down and start over than to fix the endless cascade of problems with how they do business.

They never said gamers. They sad fans. And EA has no fans among gamers, they are notoriously hated among that group.
When they say "fans" they mean shareholders, and laying off people seems to align with wants of those.

What "changing needs"? People just want good games. The industry does bad shit, it goes bad so they backtrack a bit but then slowly bring that same thing back and repeat, that's how we ended up here, the needs of the players never changed.
