Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Today, a grand jury has returned a felony indictment against a defendant, David Hearn, for felony destruction of property, for which he faces 10 years in prison,” Pirro, a Trump appointee, said.

She proceeded to call the destruction of national monuments “one of the most offensive images” she has ever seen.

“This unchecked vandalism and civil disorder turns into criminal behaviour, and that’s why we’re here today,” Pirro said. “They are an affront to the dignity of our shared history.”

One journalist asked Pirro if her decision to seek a felony indictment was influenced by Trump, who wrote on Truth Social that a 10-year prison sentence should “be fully enforced” for any attempted damage to the Reflecting Pool.

“I didn’t charge anything harshly. I charge according to the evidence,” Pirro replied. She argued that Hearn caused damage exceeding $1,000, thereby necessitating a felony charge.

Talking about your insecure corrupt whiney babies. Of course this case won't go anywhere, it'll be thrown out in no time because no evidence at all, which is because the entire complaint is a lie to cover up the incompetence and corruption of trump and his pool buddy.

USA! USA! USA!

He’s going to make millions on this. He’s going to sue everyone, he’s going to write a book, he’s going to have a gofundme, he’s going to be on every podcast, maybe a hawktua coin… he’ll deserve it, but he’s going to be just fine.

When are we going to stop watching this asshole ruin peoples lives to cover up his bullshit failures? Its time we the people rise up and physically remove this motherfucker for good.

[–] dxnny801@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Okay, officer. What do you suggest "we" do?

[–] RumRunningDevil@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Violent revolution with the express intent of ending the lives of political enemies. Thought that was pretty clear?

[–] lost_faith@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 hour ago

Just make sure you have a plan for after, this is where revolutions turn into what they revolted against

[–] elucubra@sopuli.xyz 7 points 9 hours ago

Didn't Turd vandalize the entire pool?

[–] Major_Tsiom@fedia.io 43 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Are they holding him in jail? Do they have ANY evidence? This seems like North Korea shit to me. Nazi shit. Whatever, it's fucking BAD.

[–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 20 points 11 hours ago

They sent someone to 50 years slavery in jail for wearing a black shirt.

Roll the video of trump driving over the uncured paint that never should have been filled with water for 30 days. Fat donnie needs to pay for the damage he did with his own money.

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I hate being cynical enough that this occurs to me but you could argue there is a speculative fortune to be made doing extremely legal things and getting arrested by this fascist regime - just for the eventual and essentially inevitable cash settlement.

Really the only speculative part is that there will be a functioning judicial system.

[–] troglodytis@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Or you could get sentenced to 50 years for protesting like in Texas.

[–] TachyonTele_Esq@piefed.social 19 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

At least seven people, including Hearn, have been arrested on allegations they may have harmed the pool’s blue-painted bottom.

[–] grimpy@lemmy.myserv.one 9 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

it had to be SOMEBODIES’ fault!!!

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 5 points 3 hours ago

“It had to be somebody else’s fault.”

They know it’s somebody’s fault and they know whose fault. Their egos can’t handle it, though.

[–] Eternal192@anarchist.nexus 13 points 15 hours ago

Only Trump and his circle of idiots would criminalise fucking algae.

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 10 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Drain the fucking pool, theres no reflection here.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 18 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Oh I'd argue its offering us quite a "reflection" of who we've become as a nation..

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 2 points 12 hours ago

Epoxy paint is toxic, they saved the ducks.

[–] MrSulu@lemmy.ml 1 points 10 hours ago

Has anyone other than Trump I structed its destruction?

[–] GoatSynagogue@lemmy.world 0 points 8 hours ago

Incorrect headline. A grand jury indicted him, not the trump administration.
