Fun fact, medieval serfs, despite only being a rung or two above being actual slaves, had anywhere from 100 to 150 days off every year.

When we call ourselves wage slaves, honestly it's only a wee bit hyperbolic.

That's absolutely not true, i wish this myth would finally die off. Unless you work like 14 hours per day in shit country where there is no holidays and no paid leave, then you do not even have less free time than a free peasants, and serfs were destroyed so much by excessive labour they tried to run away often (depending of course on local conditions, but serfdom was fucking terrible).

Worker conditions under capitalism is bad (but it can be bad or BAD, read Engels "The Condition of the Working Class in England") but please stop romanticising even worse times.

Fun fact, medieval serf had those days off from working their lord's land, and got to instead tend to all the other work life had to offer. So instead kinda like the weekend to do the dishes and the laundry

edit: WAIT so if u go to work 5 days a week, use days off from work for chores, and go to church on sundays... does that make u a perfect modern analogue of the medieval serf?
