The filters are not there yet. I'm scrolling through hundreds of unrelated products to try to find something I'm looking for. Online shopping can be exhausting for this reason. Even https://well.ca/ can be exhausting.

I feel like they might be a little late to the party on building an online storefront but better late than never.
Obviously this is the first kick at the can and would be nice to see this evolve into something that can promote and support Canadian small businesses. But this is Canada post so I won’t hold my breath.
I’ve sworn off Amazon, and would love it if a Canadian specific online aggregated shop popped up. One that gives more exposure to Canadian small businesses, and uses our national postal service to deliver the packages.

Unfortunately, that would first require them to start delivering packages. Their track record on that is pretty shit. Like, only succeeding twice in 8 years shit. And it's not because my place is hard to deliver to. Every other company seems to be able to deliver with no issues except Canada Post.
I understand if they're selling stamps or coins, but this feels like flipping through those magazines during a flight with items that could be from Dollarama and definitely give the impression they're overpriced.
Yeah it's not super impressive right now but also gotta calibrate expectations, Canada Post is not going to launch with a product selection and UX that rivals the big e-commerce platforms in one go…
Oh no, my expectations are good and low. I'm just wondering out loud here whether this is something Canada Post should be doing at all. With the right service, anyone with nearly zero interest in computers can set up a web "store". Should Canada Post do it? I'm not sure.
I suspect that this isn't framed very well, and may be diluting the brand. We may be seeing some kind of greasy deal where someone borrows the Canada Post brand to set out a platform very close to Shopify - and similar platforms - to sell trinkets. But Canada Post is a service that's supposed to work for all of us, bringing us and the world together: From far and wide, and through storm and danger.
I'm sure we all buy from small businesses that use Canada Post, they can certainly be boosted by Canada Post as Canadian Businesses that successfully use the Post service. I think gestures or programming like this can facilitate that spirit of service, and be compatible with the brand. I'm just not sure if e-commerce is where Canada Post should go.
I think Canada Post should be doing some kind of hyper-secure electronic messaging service for canadians, and also maybe internet for everyone as a utility, not selling random loose goods. Like, if a sci-fi writter from the 1800s imagined what a post office from the 2800s would be doing.
