So it has better range, larger payload capacity, and costs 6x less than a Tomahawk cruise missile.

It seems the main weaknesses of the Flamingo are it's not very nimble and not particularly stealth so I could easily be shot down. Main advantages, cheap, practically built out of scraps and very big explosion!

Plus it seems the air defense they might encounter is fairly minimal.

Cheap drones are used to confuse and exhaust air defense to increase chances flamingo can get through.

Screening vessels by another name

I don't know of official sources of data but I've seen that 4 out of 5 are shot down by Russia.

20% on target, through enemy air defenses, could still be devastating.

Armour that blocks 80% of bullets would be great against a sniper, far less against a machine gun at close range.

We can see that in the headlines. Massive targets are being hit everyday. It would be nice if the numbers were better but they are enough to matter

Disadvantage is size, matters for naval use and stockpiling them. It's very fat.

Are those use cases a problem for Ukraine though? I assume Ukraine mostly launches from land and doesn't have the leisure of stockpiling yet.

No, only matters for export.

So is your mom but it sure does a lot of damage

That might say more about tomahawk production costs than the flamingo's.

I thought it was going to be insufficient flamingo plushies or pink paint.

Let's turn Moscow into Lake Natron.
