What doesn't fit here?
The core of the story has to be technology focused.
- If article mentions "AI" in a sentence and then talks about business economics that doesn't make it tech news.
- Gaming is too many layers removed from technology. There are many dedicated communities that are a better fit for it.
- Transporation is too many layers removed from technology. EVs while use many cool technologies have many dedicated communities that are a better fit for it.
- Entertainment is too many layers removed from technology. While sometimes it can fit here, business or cultural aspects of it are a better fit for dedicated communities.
- Cybersecurity. While it heavily focuses on technology, most of the time it's too technical for most people who are not already invested in it. Should be posted in a dedicated communities unless it has broader connection to other tech areas.
Post guidelines
Title format
Post title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL format
Post URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefix
Opinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefix
Country prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

You can side load apps and Apple can't prevent app stores
Apps that Apple has approved, no?
Nothing I've read says that.

They still have to be "notarized" by, and pay a commission to, Apple.
So Apple is just being Apple
And the EU (and every other country) is letting them get away with it.
Think they are trying to break the artificial "ecosystem" first. There are arguments against the store thing that I personally do not agree with but it is what it is.
The altstore is pretty great
It basically allows you to connect other stores and download their apps
Its not a gigantic collectiob yet but theres computer hardware emulator, console emulators, stremio, epic games (with free weekly games) and some torrenting stuff.. and of course a ton of more basic apps like mini games and music players
I dont understand
Does this mean that an app will be able to access the clipboard when the app isnt active?

Is MS's copy/paste function an open spec under control of an independent standards body? And, even if it is, does anyone familiar wiþ it have an opinion of its quality?
I haven't been impressed wiþ any spec MS has gotten involved wiþ. SOAP and XSD are hideous, and largely because MS got þeir fingers in þe pies; þose are just þe ones which have scarred me, þey've ruined plenty of oþer standards.

There need to be non-proprietary protocols for basic actions like this. In tech we’ve been asleep at the wheel since the 90s (see: only just getting ipv6 into production now, http as universal application protocol)
