this is why bricks are for cops

I haven't read the article yet, but why does the headline say they're "alleged victims"? Are we debating whether they were attacked? I get "alleged attacker" guilty until proven innocent sure, but I don't think you can deny that they were attacked, unless the article shines light on that.
Bathroom bills are insane to start, but to be extremely clear, even under a bathroom bill, this couple did nothing wrong: an afab enby used a women’s restroom while their partner waited outside, which is exactly the behavior bathroom bills attempt to enforce. The crime here is “existing while trans” plain and simple
Near the end of a lakeside barbecue with friends at Cypress Black Bayou Park, Shae Sanders (a nonbinary person assigned female at birth) used the women’s restroom just as they usually do. As their partner, Aurora Rush, waited outside for them, a man approached her, used slurs against her, threatened to beat her up if she entered the women’s restroom, and tried to get her to fight, trans journalist S. Baum reported.
When Sanders exited the restroom, a crowd of at least 10 men and women had formed around Rush, blocking their exit, calling her a “trny” and a “fgot,” allegedly threatening to murder her, saying they’d stop her from using the restroom by “any means necessary,” and proclaiming that their violence would protect children.
I would bet up to $2k that at least one of those assaulters claiming to protect children has csam on his computer
The ordinance punishes any police officers, janitors, or employees who fail to remove an individual whose gender or sex have been called into question
Sounds like it's time to call into question the gender of every person who sets foot in a public restroom in that parish. Sure, they won't actually enforce the ordinance, but they'll have a hell of a time sorting through the noise.
Hijacking the top comment: I saw another post, but I’ll post here as well. Here is their GoFundMe:

it's time to get armed
This is why I won't travel in the US. Even an AFAB person is highly likely to be attacked if they exhibit any masculine traits at all because it has nothing to do with genetics or whatever they keep saying it's about. It's just pure hate for people who are different or women and poc who are not obedient enough.
A former friend of mine, an AFAB person of color, got harassed at a bathroom in Chili's almost a decade ago by a transphobe. It's always been a thing sadly, it's only gotten worse.
Yep, they are disingenuous as fuck. That's what this whole thing has taught me is they don't even know what the fuck they believe, they only know who they hate. And they will never be straightforward with their reasons for doing the things they do, because then everyone would think they were pieces of shit. That's the really important thing, it's not about not being a piece of shit, just acting like you aren't
It's justification to beat a woman in public and appear a hero, what else do they need.
The couple were scheduled for arraignment on July 15, but it was postponed at the last minute for August. On the day of their postponed arraignment, the Bossier Parish police jury voted unanimously for Ordinance No. 22, which imposes criminal sanctions (up to a year in jail) on anyone who refuses to leave any restroom or changing facility on public parish property that doesn’t match the user’s sex they were assigned at birth.
The ordinance punishes any police officers, janitors, or employees who fail to remove an individual whose gender or sex have been called into question, Baum noted, adding that it’s unclear whether the ordinance is currently in effect. A public comment hearing about the ordinance is reportedly scheduled for September 22.
Baum wrote that the ordinance was personally requested by Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington after the attack upon Rush and Sanders.
Police juror Glenn Benton told Baum, “There was nothing on the books for him to do as law enforcement [in response to the attack and arrest]. That’s why he asked us to do it.”

Looks like a guy who's probably in the Epstein files.
That's definitely a pedophile smirk
