[–] basxto@discuss.tchncs.de 17 points 6 days ago (1 children)

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 9 points 5 days ago

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 39 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Topologically: always have been.

[–] Viceversa@lemmy.world 24 points 5 days ago (1 children)

No, topologically there's no such thing as "in a cup".

[–] Antares@fedinsfw.app 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I often drink out of discs.why else would they call them saucers?

[–] Viceversa@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

Akcschually
You drink from the top of a disc. Even if that is a saucer

[–] Antares@fedinsfw.app 2 points 5 days ago

Oh I'm sorry, i didn't realize your deficit. It must be difficult, a lifetime being unable to use the inside of an infinitely thin shell.

[–] sicarius@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

This was my first thought exactly. Adams was truly ahead of the curve.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 15 points 5 days ago (2 children)

My balls are in the microplastics.

[–] bonesawmcl@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)
[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Careful! You’re pinching it infinitely tight.

[–] bunnyBoy@pawb.social 2 points 2 days ago

It's amazing how every now and again, some how, some way, that video finds its way back into my life.

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 2 points 5 days ago

Are they in the pee too?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 6 days ago (2 children)

But is it half empty or half full?

[–] WereCat@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

It’s halfway submerged

[–] Antares@fedinsfw.app 2 points 5 days ago

It's fully half, or no half?

[–] mavu@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 5 days ago

YOU UNDO THAT RIGHT NOW! I DO NOT CONSENT TO BE IN THE CUP!

[–] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] hypeerror@sh.itjust.works 11 points 6 days ago (1 children)

How can juice be real if cup isn't real.

[–] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

We are the juice, always have been!

[–] Frenchgeek@lemmy.ml 9 points 5 days ago

Nestle is currently mobilizing their lawyers.

[–] WereCat@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago

Now you need a cup letgoer in your car

[–] hedge_lord@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

If I do this with two cups and then stack them such that one cup is "inside" of the other, then the cup is inside of the cup that it is outside of.

[–] Zwiebel@feddit.org 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

One of the sides vanishes, you're left with only inside

[–] Antares@fedinsfw.app 2 points 5 days ago

You're reaching the limit of my patience.

[–] wador@lemmy.zip 8 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Sometimes I put my underwear on inside out. I love the feeling of having the whole world in them.

He's got the whole world
In his pants

[–] synapse1278@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

The whole world, except you.

[–] Tiral@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Fun fact. If you tell Alexa you got a present from your friend that's a cup, but the opening is upside down. She can't figure out you just have it upside down. They'll tell you to try filling it upside down and it's a trick cup ect.

[–] Waraugh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago

How can an opening be upside down? That doesn’t make any sense.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 5 points 5 days ago

Guys, we're all in this together, OK?

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

but a cup doesn't have an inside and an outside anyways. nothing is "in" the cup to begin with.

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

While I still don't really understand it, topological equivalence?

[–] take6056@feddit.nl 2 points 5 days ago

This must be the biggest cup ever

[–] IhaveCrabs111@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

We’re outside the inverted cup

[–] Danarchy@lemmy.nz 3 points 6 days ago
