I wonder if the ICC president consented to the USA jurisdiction though.

Getting sanctioned is pretty serious. Sometimes we can lose sight of the consequences of it cause we hear about sanctions for countries/people already sanctioned. This very well could expand into a pretty serious international incident and is very very stupid
Didn't they effectively un-person another ICC judge last year by doing this?
He said he was old enough to remember how to manage his own calendar and pay bills by check, so it didn't hit him as hard as his younger friends expected.
Also I bet it gives him massive street cred with all theinternational human rights lawyer hunnies.
Since the US doesn't respect the ICC, why should the ICC respect the US?
ICC had the balls to punish nazis instead of giving them jobs and safety, unlike a certain shit hole country.
For people looking for sources:
- https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?edition=prelim&path=%2Fprelim%40title22%2Fchapter81 states the US will not comply with the ICC and section 7427 allows the use of force to retrieve a covered person detained or imprisoned by the ICC.
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip was a secret operation where Nazi scientists, engineers, and technicians were brought to the US after WWII ended in Europe. The Soviet Union did the same.
What a shithole country.
