I made a pipe out of the stalk of a cannabis plant I grew

I'm in the process of remaking my "Doom Pumpkin" for Halloween as well. If connects to my HomeAssistant setup and has four 12v car horns, a speaker to play audio, LED's for eyes, a big red arcade button for a nose, motion sensors in front and back to interact with kids (it tells them it farts fireballs if they walk behind it) and an anti theft mode where if it's picked up the horns start going off. Press the button and a random sequence of horns will go off. It also will randomly set a horn off if it hasn't been touched in a while. And when it senses someone in front it will taunt them to press the button. Since it's built in to HomeAssistant I can set when certain functions work and for a couple days before Halloween it will be outside taunting the neighborhood during the day.

The first version was a couple horns powered by an arduino uno and would just randomly activate 2 horns in different ways. The new one added two more horns (one is a little beep beep forklift horn, the other is an oooogah horn) to go with the high tone and low tone car horn.

I’ve mad myself sad and/or angry countless times. Thankfully I’ve also made my significant other happy and/or thankfull multiple times also so there’s that.

I won't post pics because I don't want to doxx myself and my family but, my brother, my dad and I built a racecar and I did most of the painting. We even ended up in the paper because we were one of the few people who still paint our car instead of vinyl wrap everything.

I'm in the process of building a device that lets you plug a landline telephone to a standard sound system. It's just so I can use it on stage, I wanna pick up the phone and sing with that vintage crackling voice.

Sadly, it is not "made" yet because I suck at electronics but I've got all the components I need and some time on my hands.

I made a piece called “Sad Hammer”. It was a cheap hammer that got overused and bent down and I thought it looks depressed, so I put it in a shadow box and hung it on my wall after visiting MOMA. I guess it’s really not that cool but I like it.

I've posted her elsewhere, but this is Teana. A few years back, my boy wanted a posable body for a Halloween Halloween monkey who's head broke off. One rabbit hole later and I was knee deep in the ball-joint doll section of the 3d printing community. He and I decided we'd make our own but as monsters.

The smoothing process for the white ABS I was using reminded me of my time working with porcelain and that's how Teana happened. Eventually Id like to sew a little dress and pose her on my brick-a-brack shelf in a decorative cloche.

More recently I've been building a mid century modern sectonal couch out of scrap lumber and a memory foam mattress. I'm far from a carpenter, didn't even own saw when I started, but it's coming together very nicely. It will look great with my TV.

It was a later model zenith with a broken screen. It's not the real wood style my parents had, the front is molded plastic, but it still feels nice. I gutted it, used a dremel to widen the hole behind the face, and nylon straps to hold up a cheap 32in from Walmart. I then disassembled an old tower and built it into the empty space inside and mounted a soundbar to echo off the back wall. The screen actually loses about 4cm off the edges became of the frame, but it feels more like the classic aspect ratio and that's nice. Also I've yet to watch a movie that needed that area anyway.

Since then, I refurbished a desk, and built a changing bench.

I have plans completed for a hallway table, and a foot stool. I'm waiting for it to get a bit cooler, I'll probably start in a couple of weeks.

I made a Homemade Tablet Digital Art Keyboard for my Surface Pro 3 when i was using it for drawing daily.

The tablet is garbage, and I'm sad I'll probably never buy a tablet pc again but i would like to see if i can adapt this for an iPad one day. For now it'll remain in this state until i can figure something else out with it.

I clicked on this thread with excitement before I remembered I have designed a lot of cool things that I can't post without either opening my company up to industrial espionage or doxxing myself.

So I will post something my wife and I both worked on. This is one of our kitchen cabinets. All of them are white and boring, and we decided that since we own the house, we will have artwork instead of "resale value".

Earlier this year I made a short video essay about how Dr. Mario's garbage mechanics are unusually different from the rest of the versus puzzle genre. I think it's my best work yet... but sadly it ended up as my worst view count.

I just finished another video about another versus puzzle game that I plan to publish tomorrow, but can't share it quite yet so click the Dr. Mario one instead I guess.

I do ham radio. Probably the coolest thing I've "made" is a setup where I can send email without the need for an internet connection on my end. I use a small laptop connected to a transceiver to send out high-frequency sounds (VARA) on very low power (5-10 watts) to towers around the world that will decode the signals, convert it to a regular email, and send it to the recipient (bob@overthere.com). Then reverse the process when I check for a reply. The whole setup fits in a small backpack and I can use a piece of speaker wire for the antenna. It's about as fast as dial-up used to be, but it works!

I have a scifi novel. It's circling right now in the first revision stage, but the story itself is complete and I feel good about it. Even filed for copyright. Now if I can just get back to work on it (rewriting sucks).

I made a batch of really good salsa over the weekend. It took me hours (I'm disabled atm), but it was a really good batch with incredibly fresh local tomatoes, peppers and onions.

I’ve made four sci-fi novels, self-published them and am working on the fifth. I have been making sketches and paintings and done many exhibitions.

I made a random party generator for Final Fantasy Rennaissance, a FF1 fan game built from scratch with the stated goal of including as many classes as possible from across the franchise.

I also built a random team generator for Fire Emblem Engage.

When I was a teenager, I made a trebuchet. It was so fun. It was not sophisticated at all -- just made of 2x4 with a steel rod as the axle. The axle was about 1 m from the ground, to give you a sense of its size. It wasn't large, but it could throw things quite far (about 60 m).

I'm still working on it, but this is my first attempt at making something with clay. How cute it's supposed to be for reference.

I’ve recorded a few audiobooks for Librivox, a group that releases free recordings of public domain books. I use my government name for them, so I won’t say which ones, but you might have heard my voice if you picked the right one from !audiobooks@literature.cafe

I built a bluetooth receiver into the aux line on my car stereo so I could maintain the aux as well. It worked flawlessly for a few months until a connection broke because I didn't have actual connectors to use. Need to find a source for the kind of connector that plugs into the aux line but the one's I've found so far are too expensive and I'm not even sure they're the right ones.

We moved into our new place in December. We had a fence post that needed replacing. The post was in a place that would work great for a fence gate. So I'm adding a new gate to our fence. This will serve to make the property as whole more accessible. It will also provide a means for those with mobility issues to enter the home without having to climb the big set of stairs at the front door.

I decided to make a proper project out of it. I could have just put in a simple gate, but I decided to go for something grander. I'm building a pergola gate! I've finished the columns and installed the first of two beams this evening.

The foundation of the gate are two 8' long steel fence posts driven 3' into the ground with a sledge hammer. The posts are approximately 5"x7", each made from five 2x6s laminated together. The beams are made from two cedar 2x6s edge joined together into a 2x12 beam. There will be two beams all together.

Tomorrow I'll hang the second beam, add some cross pieces at the top of the beams, add some foundation reinforcement, and start building the actual fence gate.

About a decade and a half ago I made a picture gallery for Android called floating image. I got fairly popular with about two million installs, but my focus drifted. Still, it was a pretty neat achievement for a spare time project.

I built the wooden arch my husband and I got married under in our backyard.

Back when I dabbled in writing software, I made a fun project making dots orbit other dots. It was meant to be a very rough simulation of the path the moon takes as it orbits the earth, while the earth orbits the sun. I wanted to take it one step further, and built it to be more modular, where you could input how many "earth's" orbited the "sun", how many "moons" orbited the "earth's", and a speed decay or increase between each step. Ended up with the "sun" being an origin point, the number of dots around the origin I labelled "child objects," and the nested object depth as "generations" (what if the moon had a smaller moon that had a smaller moon).

Found out my CPU could update around 130,000 floating math points at 60fps (around 65,000 X and Y coords total, plus rendering overhead). Also found out that using specific configs, I could get it to form fractals like the Sierpiński triangle, the star of david, geometric flower shapes, lots of interesting stuff. It was very fun to play around with after finishing it.

All written with HTML, CSS, and JS, able to run in any browser. Unfortunately, I lost the project somewhere between distrohopping around a decade ago, and that was the last time I really programmed anything. All those skills have atrophied, and I don't have the drive to get back into it.

I released a couple of albums, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you're looking at it, the great myspace purge of whenever the fuck that happened deleted their existence off of the face of the planet.

I've made contributions* to the OEIS, but since they require real names over there, and I like my anonymity here, I won't say which entries have my mark on them. ~~Bow ties~~ Number sequences are cool.
