Imagine paying to be trapped underground with the world's biggest assholes.

Of course, any disaster this big would mean these people aren't worth anything.

If your doomsday bunker costs five million dollars, you are not ultra-rich.

I like to think that $5m doomsday bunkers these days are designed and managed by LLMs.

As a result, they look really impressive and have lots of attention to detail… but then after using it in earnest you realize they missed something really obvious like breathable air at the air pressure it’s been set to.

enough diesel fuel to run its generators for 2 1/2 years.

So you'll survive doomsday as long as it only lasts 2 1/2 years.

Someone should tell them about hysteresis.

Also, 5M is absolute laughable.

I mean how much money would you have to spend on a bunker for it to work out.

If they cared about riding out the fallout, they would have to spend enough to make it possible to stay in there for at least a few generations, at least. And that would probably cost way north of 50M, but I didn't bother to sanity check that number.

Yeah but do any of them want to...seriously? It could last much longer than nuclear fall out.
