Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

The implication Is that they've tried to achieve peace, when all they've done is gaslight the victim while supporting their homicidal rapist.

The EU needs to grow some fucking balls and put their collective militaries into Ukraine. Tell Putin that he has X days to withdraw or he will face the full force of the EU. This is the only logical response to him buying out the USA's political class, implementing a puppet fascist regime, waging decades of psychological warfare and cyber criminal warfare, plus dozens of other acts of war against the world.

Has everyone forgotten that Putin has shot down commercial airliners, severed undersea cables, used chemical weapons and other illegal war-crime weapons in Syria, poisoned political and intelligence operatives abroad, etc? All of this, in addition to invading a sovereign nation? At this point the EU should be actively — openly — trying to assassinate Putin at every opportunity. Why is there not a billion dollar bounty on his head for anyone in Russia to claim?

Russia has the remains of what used to 5k nukes 35 years ago. All with an annual military budget that is less than what the US spends on maintaining their nuclear arsenal and a culture of corruption that is likely the most prevalent in areas like the nuclear arsenal where nobody corrupt ever expected missing maintenance to be noticed.

So? I'm not saying the EU should invade Russia. I'm (mainly) saying the EU should defend Europe.

Do you suggest we negotiate with terrorists now? How far has that gotten us, apart from fractured democracies, and more powerful tyrants? Should we hand over the world to every tyrant who threatens to push the button and start a nuclear war? All the more reason to eliminate the tyrant as far as I am concerned.

Narcissists and psychopaths do not respect the rule of law, or notions of "soft power". The only thing they understand is violence. If they can't be forcefully tried and imprisoned for their crimes, they should be neutralized, with extreme prejudice.

I hope it's not going to be Germany, the policies of their current conservative leadership is why we're dealing with a lot of these fires.

They are responsible for making the EU reliant enough on Russia that they thought we would stand by and let Ukraine fall. They are responsible for the absolute state of Hungary. The migrant crisis. Bankrupting Greece in the name of austerity. I'm sure the list goes on.

German car manufacturing. VW's biggest engine factory is in Gyõr, Hungary. BMW is building in Debrecen, then there is also Mercedes. Hungary is also a major battery manufacturer since recently.

Couple that with some other industry, like the only non-Danish Lego factory in the EU for example, or others.

Cutting Hungary out from the customs union would cost a lot of people with a lot of power in the EU a lot of money.

It would, but Orbán isn't Hungary. You can't blackmail Orbán with Hungary, he doesn't care for it beyond using it as a vehicle of power. Hungary is also in a lot of hardship already, so I doubt some more layoffs would be the breaking point.

The factories wouldn't close immediately, they are huge. Also, China is also building up in Hungary, and it would continue being an important transit and manufacturing hub between China and the EU, even if it was not part of the EU. It's still on the shortest path between the Belt and Road connections and Germany, and there is no point in either going the Croatia route over the mountains or through Ukraine and Poland, again through mountains and presently, war. It is also chock full of Chinese battery plants that would continue to sell to the EU, because even without being in the trade union, Hungary has the advantage of not giving a shit about environmental regulations for building such plants.

To be honest, this is why every sane Hungarian wants Ukraine to succeed in defending itself, as if we had a Russian border in Transcarpathia, that's when shit would get real and Orbán would go full Belarus.

EU has become complacent and are now paying the price for it. They need to take the lead and not depend on USA because the US is not a reliable partner. The US will only get involved if it is in their interest.

Seriously, the US is behaving like someone walking in the street and all of the sudden they walk into a girl being violently raped and he goes "well I can save you but what is it worth to you? You got any jewelry?" The girl frantically screams for help, and the guy goes "well you didn't even say thank you for tapping the guy on the shoulder, now you'll need to give me your grandmother's jewelry too if you want to help me to stop him"... All the while this guy continues to rape and beat her, and he's just standing there, saying he'll help her and that he can stop it in a second but, you know....
