"I can end it in a day"

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 69 points 5 months ago (1 children)

That's what any lazy quitter would say. Mind you : They're trying to get their own little windfall from this, so it's probably for the best if they quit.

The implication Is that they've tried to achieve peace, when all they've done is gaslight the victim while supporting their homicidal rapist.

The EU needs to grow some fucking balls and put their collective militaries into Ukraine. Tell Putin that he has X days to withdraw or he will face the full force of the EU. This is the only logical response to him buying out the USA's political class, implementing a puppet fascist regime, waging decades of psychological warfare and cyber criminal warfare, plus dozens of other acts of war against the world.

Has everyone forgotten that Putin has shot down commercial airliners, severed undersea cables, used chemical weapons and other illegal war-crime weapons in Syria, poisoned political and intelligence operatives abroad, etc? All of this, in addition to invading a sovereign nation? At this point the EU should be actively — openly — trying to assassinate Putin at every opportunity. Why is there not a billion dollar bounty on his head for anyone in Russia to claim?

It's not like you're actually trying to help asshole.

So they're gonna finally stop supporting Russia?

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 12 points 5 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Why won't they stop threatening us with a good time?

They had a luxurious outing in some big-oil palace. It's hard work man, they had to literally, very briefly, walk through the desert

EU has become complacent and are now paying the price for it. They need to take the lead and not depend on USA because the US is not a reliable partner. The US will only get involved if it is in their interest.

[–] DarkWinterNights@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago

It is in their interest, they're unfortunately ruled now by a self-interested Russian puppet.

This is also a marked pivot from "I will end the war day 1."

"Nobody knew peacetalks could be so complicated...."

Rubio is a horrible sack of shit. What an unctuous turd.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 20 points 5 months ago

Good, fuck off trying to squeeze an innocent country in duress

Seriously, the US is behaving like someone walking in the street and all of the sudden they walk into a girl being violently raped and he goes "well I can save you but what is it worth to you? You got any jewelry?" The girl frantically screams for help, and the guy goes "well you didn't even say thank you for tapping the guy on the shoulder, now you'll need to give me your grandmother's jewelry too if you want to help me to stop him"... All the while this guy continues to rape and beat her, and he's just standing there, saying he'll help her and that he can stop it in a second but, you know....

[–] spooky2092@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 5 months ago

When are they going to start the peace negotiation efforts before they stop them? Cuz all they're doing is trying to conquer them and steal their resources currently.

[–] BillDaCatt@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago

That was the plan for this administration all along. Trump is a Russian asset. He has never been interested in helping Ukraine achieve peace.

I bet orangeboi will demand they give back the Vipers and Patriots next, despite the fact that it wasn’t us who gave them most of that stuff

Maybe it's a good thing? It's not like he was doing any good anyway.
