DC has seen record lows in crime. This is all Trump going crazy.

They don’t, and nobody who has the barest shred of power to do fucking anything about it is actually doing anything to stop it. They are, and will continue to, categorically ignore laws, court orders, precedent, convention, and so on. They demonstrably do not give a shit.
Stop fucking pretending that this is a normal situation and a normal government. It’s not. The last 4 years were our Weimar Republic era. This 4 (+ ???) year span will be when they do the Enabling Act, citizenship/blood and honor laws, the Treachery Act (honestly wouldn’t even be surprised if they used the same fucking name for it), the Malicious Practices Act, and so on. There is a playbook, and they’re following it.

You're putting an awful lot of faith in the fact that literally anyone will stop him from doing this longer than 30 days. Congress has to pass a law to extend it? Says who? The law? I don't reckon Trump cares much about a silly little thing like the law.
More importantly, the law doesn't care about holding Trump accountable in any way, shape, or form. Convicted on 34 felony counts, absolutely no consequences.
Probably the whole thing was set up... how convient is it that it qas this one guy? Shits shady as fuck...

Remember when a bunch of dumb assholes allowed themselves to trip and fall into the "single issue" hole and let fascism take hold in America over a conflict happening on the other side of the planet?
"A conflict happening on the other side of the planet" is one my new favorite euphemisms for genocide - one that has left 50k children killed or injured.
What I remember was the Democratic establishment being presented with a simple choice between halting fascism and doing genocide, and they went balls deep in genocide. In reality, halting fascism via the Democrats was never in the cards.

Best case scenario? This is just more distraction from the epstein files
Worst case? This is him realizing qanon has turned on him and setting up martial law to protect himself for the next ten terms.
Most likely? A mix of making sure nobody can protest him at any "public" event and photo ops to make himself look strong that will fail even harder than the LA mobilization because there just isn't room for the national guard to bivvy around DC. Like... they're gonna be spooning with the unhoused folk in alleyways.
But the most important thing to remember? All those men and women in the National Guard are the real heroes and are going to protect us. And if you say otherwise, you are just a stupid civvy who doesn't understand that legally they have to follow orders. And if you point out the cognitive dissonance there, no salmon for you.
