Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

is this the guy who was caught masturbating in his office

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 91 points 5 months ago

Yes. He is also the guy that bought Trump bibles for classrooms in OK.

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 26 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I thought he had porn on in the background. Maybe it was both.

Clearly there was no consequences.

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

Welp, I suppose that would explain the lack of consequences...

[–] tpyo@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

As despicable a person I may find him, the truth is more important. I do appreciate the clarification

At the same time they're accusing universities of indoctrination, Republicans are openly implementing government indoctrination in public schools.

Everything is projection with Maga pedos.

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 25 points 5 months ago

They accuse the other side of doing it so that when they do it their supporters are ok with it. They say

"Well, the Democrats were doing it so why shouldn't our side" when the Democrats never did shit

[–] hydrashok@sh.itjust.works 44 points 5 months ago

No education about the actual students getting killed in actual schools though, that would just be woke left-wing opportunistic propaganda.

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 29 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Hey, the Hitler Youth chapters came earlier than I thought!

As a reminder, we hanged people like Charlie Kirk at Nuremberg for incitement to genocide and crimes against humanity.

He's still fresh if you're looking for a Halloween decoration.

Looks like they plan to keep their # 50 spot in education.

Oh if you think that story is wild the resolution is even crazier. After the panick following seeing boobs appear on the TV at the school board meeting and flinging wild accusations all the way up and down the chain of command it turns out what had happened was this Samsung smart TV was connected to the Internet, and when powered on automatically started playing one of the free movie channels operated by Samsung, and the movie it happened to play was the Jackie Chan movie The Protector (1985) which the US release contains at least one scene with nudity in it

So basically a lack of technical competence to spot that the TV was turned on and started auto playing a movie combined with a lack of media literacy to recognize an obvious movie scene plus a puritanical fear of pornography created a national scandal over what amounted to someone didn't change the TV channel and some boobs appeared for a moment on the meeting room TV during a private meeting exclusively attended by adults. Seriously nobody could just go "hold on can we turn that off, okay now continue..." like professionals?

What a shithole.

[–] blackluster117@sh.itjust.works 15 points 5 months ago

Ah yes, Hitler Youth 2: Electric Boogaloo.

JD Vance tells us not to call people Nazis....what this clown actually is out-Nazi-ing the Nazis.

This is really fucked up...

America is dead. This is like giving Paris Hilton a chapter in a history book.

America is a Mafia.

American wants to make home grown terrorists because they know they profit off them. Doing it in foreign countries is out dated.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 12 points 5 months ago (2 children)

If I had two options, a Paris Hilton chapter in school history books, or a TPUSA club mandatory at every high school, I'd seriously consider the Paris Hilton option.

[–] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Stop letting them think you only have two options!

[–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Let’s put a semester on the new deal at the other end.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 10 points 5 months ago

Not a good decision at all.

Some kid from Oklahoma in 2050: "You mean Charlie Kirk wasn't an angel from heaven who crashed to earth to warn us about antifa?"

[–] GuyFawkes@midwest.social 8 points 5 months ago

We’re at the point in history where we ARE gonna have to do some wrongs to make things right. The sooner everyone realizes that the fewer corrective wrongs will be necessary.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 months ago

Kids will be able to read about one person getting shot at a college while hiding under their desks during the next mass shooting at their high school.

[–] Dzheyk@sh.itjust.works 7 points 5 months ago

And just like that, he's resigned to become CEO of the Teacher Freedom Alliance nonprofit. Good riddance, but now he can do damage in other ways. Great.

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 6 points 5 months ago

I suppose if you're trying to do your part to fuel neo-feudalism then this isn't a bad idea. Undermining your own nation's youth seems a great way to sabotage your country on the world stage in a few decades.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 5 points 5 months ago

See, you can't fix our society's problems by just killing one guy.

[–] Caffeinated_Sloth@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

No big deal, we can simply insist that the leftist equivalent be included as well. Oh wait there isn’t an organized effort to indoctrinate children into leftism.

[–] TingoTenga@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

The only my indoctrination is good indoctrination.

[–] AoxoMoxoA@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

A "Turning Point" high school chapter would not have fared well in the GenX 80s. But it would have been entertaining.

It's sad to see what America and the teens have become. We were tougher once.
