Last time a fake id worked, just searched for an id sample online and gimped it to match the name and the date on the google acc.

Didn't even have to change the default photo.

This was some years ago, idk if it still works tho.

[–] Confidant6198@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 weeks ago

Might have to do that

[–] Niquarl@lemmy.ml 26 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Wasn't there a website where you could get ai photos and videos for this?

Black male people look according to this site all the same no matter the age?

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 5 points 1 week ago

Eh, not like most algos that will check can tell black people apart anyway

Probably a lack of data in the training set. It reminds me of the early versions of facial recognition software which had trouble telling not just black people apart, but also women of all ages and white men below a certain age. It was because these early versions had only been trained on photos of employees at the company, and they were mostly older white men.

Credit card is the best of the options. There are all sorts of strict rules and restrictions about how companies store and use credit card information. Those rules don't exist for the other options.

I don’t want to give any of my info to Google though

I'm waiting for the change in T&Cs to basically say "If you don't watch enough ads, you will be auto subscribed to YT premium using the ccard on file"

[–] Steve@communick.news 8 points 2 weeks ago

That's one of the restrictions. If they try to do that, you just call Visa and cancel the charge. Then Visa will fight with Google to get their money back.

I wonder if a temporary credit card will work maybe?

[–] Steve@communick.news 5 points 2 weeks ago

That's an idea. It might. I don't know

It doesn't work for age restricted videos

[–] Goodlucksil@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 weeks ago

No, I mean people who post youtube videos to other platforms.

Can't you use a VPN and route your traffic outside of your country?

[–] Confidant6198@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I am on VPN 24/7 changing countries made no difference

[–] myszka@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 week ago

Do you use your google acccount? If so, try without it You can use newpipe or invidious btw

[–] FosterMolasses@leminal.space 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Tampermonkey extension still works for me to unlock age-restricted videos. Is it having issues for you?

If you don't have it, check out these two links:

https://greasyfork.org/en/help/installing-user-scripts

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/521089-youtube-age-restriction-bypass-stealth-version

It's got instructions for nearly every browser. Once you have the extension you can install whichever scripts you like. I mostly use it for verification bypass but there's a lot of other cool stuff you can do too.

[–] Confidant6198@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

This didn’t work

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

For me what worked is restating the router. I read that you use VPN, so I don't know I it will work.

[–] turtl@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Can you try to make a new account? Or use any of the YouTube frontends?

[–] Confidant6198@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 weeks ago

I tried, but it doesn't work for age restricted videos. I tend to use Freetube whenever possible, and only swap to other options when I am forced for age restriction.

[–] PearOfJudes@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

How did you do it before?

[–] Twongo@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

if all fails i can highly recommend invidious. you can also import your youtube subscriptions

good luck OP

EDIT: yea... age restricted videos are off the table though.

[–] nafzib@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

It almost certainly won't work but I'd be curious if any test credit card numbers work for that purpose. They still pass the Luhn algorithm, but I'm guessing Google is still gonna reach out to some service to verify the CC details.

Test cards: https://docs.stripe.com/testing

Assume he is an adult. Explain why he should.

[–] Core_of_Arden@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Should what? I didn't say he should anything...?

[–] mub@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 weeks ago (9 children)

The same question could be asked of your original comment. Go ahead and expand on what you meant by "why would he want to?", then I'll explain what I meant by my reply.
