Trying to log in to my account here on lemmy.zip. I input the correct login details and I get a banner at the bottom that says "Invalid login".

I've successfully tested the credentials on lemmy.zip itself, and also Boost (which I'm using now). Both work fine.

Any idea what this issue could be? Love the look of Sync so will be disappointed if I can't use it :(

I'm a fan of Voyager and Boost.

It's time to move on. This app has been abandoned without a word from the developer.

It's sad cause I always loved sync for reddit. Summit is the closest to sync I could find, even if it isn't perfect, the dev is at least, you know, around, and they consider requests pretty readily. Just can't wait till they enable the option to turn off the FAB.

Yeah it's really unfortunate. I think having no communication makes it worse. If the developer would just say something, it would be a lot better. I hope they are doing well at least though. Sync has been such a wonderful app for so many years and I've used it since the reddit days as well.

Summit is also great too. Sometimes I will use it instead of Voyager/Boost. In the end there are a lot of decent and usable apps at least. It's a shame Sync is no longer viable.

I'd recommend using Summit over Sync, looks pretty similar and it is highly configurable, with much more active development than Sync: last Sync update was March 2024, more than 1.5y ago.

I also swapped to Summit from Sync and agree that they can be made to look quite similar. As a nice bonus, the dev is not only active, they're super communicative as well!

I've tried Jerboa and Connect in the past. They don't look the same, but they're both nice options for someone who feels like browsing around.

Responding through Summit right now. Really like it so far! Only thing I can't figure out is how to make my Subscribed feed the default view. It always reverts back to All Posts.

Settings --> Post Feed --> Homepage --> Subscribed - took me a bit to find it as well, easy to scroll past ๐Ÿ˜…

Kicking myself now because I'd scrolled through that settings page a couple of times trying to find it as well. Thanks!!

I also eventually moved off Sync after a complete lack of development. I haven't tried Summit, but recommend Thunder. I've been very happy with it.

Edit: Just tried Summit. I personally still prefer Thunder.

Sorry but you gotta move. Dev abandoned the project. Try Summit.

Ah no, that's sad. I'll go exploring!

Just another alternative suggestion, interstellar. I often rotate between summit and interstellar and really like them both. The only problem with interstellar i have found is its graphic design. Posts have no clear definition so it just looks like a blob wall of text and pictures. Pretty functional despite it's graphic design.
