At least GPD Win now considers Linux important enough to now try to make up claims to some sort of partnership. Lenovo ships SteamOS devices. Zotac ships Manjaro devices. Good trajectory for Linux on handhelds

Dunno if these companies think Linux is better…it certainly is cheaper than windows licensing, so they profit more.
A good thing done for a bad/selfish reason, is still a good thing done.
Might be a marketing thing, since the big ones are all using some variant of Linux as an option on their handhelds now. I also only remember one using Windows as a positive part of their marketing, and haven't seen anything from them in a good while
Honestly to me it sounds like they are forking bazzite to have their own official version not that bazzite is making a version for them. The discord link they gave isn't even for the bazzite discord.
Yeah, it doesn't look like they are lying to me, the official Bazzite version is official as in, it's made by GPD for their own device, it's an OS you get from the manufacturer of the device.
They didn't claim the Bazzite team is involved in any way.
Maybe GPD should just join the OGC lol, Bazzite and ASUS already did
