Inspired by another topic in here; what are the best fansub groups to look out for? I’m specifically looking for subs that put in the extra effort, translating signs using overlays and using text effects to enhance the experience.

I’m hoping some still exist for newer anime 😅

I'd start with old groups that made to one these lists: 'A Certain Fansubber's Index', 'Seadex's Index' (Drive) | (Website).

Unfortunately, special effects and those kind of things are less common these days.

I generally use the Seadex list to find good releases. There's also TRaSH Guides based on Seadex with a list sorted list of good release groups.

Yeah seadex is a good source, generally they’ll say they have a typesetter in the credits on the torrent page.
