Yup, SO many dems are willing to sacrifice minorities either out of genuine phobia or to appease and win some voters on the right. I know that the wish for 'absolute moral purity' can mess up SO MUCH in politics, especially for dems during elections as far as I have seen. Trans people make up such a small percentage of the population and are ALREADY victimized ridiculously more than they commit any crimes or moral failings and these people just feed into the deliberate misinformation campaign of "violent trans shooters".

"I'm sure I deserved it" as a fellow Reddit ban victim, I relate.

And yup, closest alternative. Forums aren't active anymore (or at least not much) and there aren't any thread-like platforms in bigger social medias.

Reddit banned me and it genuinely felt like a much too toxic place in hindsight. It's less stressful on here as well. Plus I needed a similar alternative as most specialized forums nowadays are dead and I am fond of the easy community style.

Haven't seen this much thirst from women since Baldur's Gate 3 dropped Astarion on us.

Got a big pile of shame (shame on me) but my current reading list (selected out of that pile) is 'Caesar' by Shakespeare, a collection of Albert Camus' dramas and a book by Alberto Angela about love and sexuality in ancient Rome (couldn't find the title in English so I think it hasn't been translated?).

I've heard some of what they subjected him to... after everything he had done for them he was treated like a 'useful idiot' and then a pest. Abysmal. That's their plan for trans people too - an active and passive genocide (outright killing them or pushing them to commit). I hate the state of the world right now.

Do you mean a 'nice guy' (internet phenomenon) or an actually nice guy? Because people like nice guys more than bad guys. People like nice people more than bad people. The thing with bad guys might be that they are shitty enough to play at being superficially charming and understanding so vulnerable and/or naive people might end up flocking to them. That's also how cults work. Cult leaders are 'popular' but not because they are actually good or nice people.

I feel like Caesar isn't uninformed or stupid (the opposite actually)... but since he knows he is the only person with any semblance of an education he can just spew the biggest bullshit known to mankind and twist facts and words to convince his people to follow him. Really, who would correct him? Plus his ego is so big that he doesn't accept criticism anyway, and since his people love him so much they don't accept criticism of him either. Boom - you've got your infallible god-emperor. But wait, Caesar is humble so he isn't the god Mars himself, only his son. That makes his bullshit story more believable because he is still mortal. He's very intelligent but also the wasteland's biggest grifter.

That is... how consent works.

Thanks for the write-up. Forcefully stopping someone's medical treatment (especially with effects as strong as HRT) already sounded terrible in theory but these side effects and the deliberate intention of torture are scary and horrible as fuck. And yet, the administration and its supporters claim to be "moral"... bunch of ghouls.
