My understanding is age verification will be mandated if you have UK users or are in the UK, so... it's that online "safety" bill.

Thank you for suggestions!
Thanks - also wrong country, I thankfully don't have age verification mandated yet but I'd really rather not use a service that goes into age verification in general. I'll see if I can convince the 2 friends I text with there to use one of those. Don't think they like age verification either.
Well. Anyone got a Discord alternative recommendation if I use it for text messaging? Would rather not upload my ID or face. I looked at Revolt, but they're apparently histed in the UK, which is mandating age verification.
To add to this: I'm in a region where the base Switch 2 price is already very unaffordable when you compare it with our wages and cost of living. And then you throw in the games... which Nintendo conveniently left out prices of for us (they did list the bundle though, so I'm extrapolating from that). But Nintendo won't care since we're already a very small market. But if they did that in more markets to the point of being unaffordable in most places? Sales would crash. There's a reason they have a cheap region locked variant for the Japanese market.
Deserved. Fuck Adobe!
I do not like this. At all. Facial recognition and forced digitization? I'm disabled, and when I request assistance, I literally cannot use a digital boarding pass. And the favial recognition just seems like such a breach.
I barely used Reddit - good riddance, this is what spurred me to sign up here. The right wing infestation of social media is nasty.
